  1. Welcome to the cab club Jon. The most important thing about owning a cab is storing it,if you don't have a garage get yourself a decent outside cover from Halfords ( approx £80) cabriolets especially older ones don't like being left outside
  2. Yea could be,I just noticed they got more than seven spokes
  3. Hi Jon ,welcome to the cab club. The beauleiu Ford show is unusual that you pay on the day, most shows you pay in advance. It costs £10.00 per person in your car, that includes free entrance into the museum and top gear world .normal price for the museum is more than £20.00 per person so it's a bonus doing the show at a really nice venue and having the museum to spend time in. Gates open at 9.00 but clubs can get in from 8.00 to,avoid the lengthy queues as there were over a thousand cars last year. Where are you coming from Jon ?
  4. Hi Chris ,have they got a Ford stamp on them ? They look like mk3 escort wheels. Good luck with the resto, keep pics coming.
  5. Thats great Ian, be good to catch up.
  6. yea ,he is going with jon,and craig on the day so you should be able to meet up.
  7. First show of the year is in sight, approx 6 or 7 coming, any new members interested ?
  8. Mine is a mk5 but the roof was off a mk6 I broke so is the same. I went and broke another mk6 for the new roof I am fitting,as it was cheaper than having a new roof fitted. I have a mk4 that I have owned for 14 years and just had a new white fitted just outside Milton Keynes. He done a good job and would recommend him.
  9. Maybe able to help you and I only live just south of Bedford. I am removing mine and fitting a replacement that has a better mohair roof as the one on the car is torn. How urgent do you need it as I won't be doing it for a couple of weeks. Regards Ian.

    Need Help

If it's been garaged for 15 years without being used it's going to have to be carefully recomishioned. It will need a new cam belt before you dare to turn the ignition on,new fuel in the tank and a lot more mechanicals checking over. The brakes will need to looked at as well. It is difficult to put a price on the car because it has had no use. I guess a car with history and regular services could be worth 3-4 thousand pounds but a lot of people would be put off by the amount of money they will have to spend to get yours back on the road. I would think £1500 would be a fair price. Regards Ian.
  11. There is. A premier inn at the end of the road
  12. Check them vacuum pipes around the inlet manifold to see if there any leaks, they run a bit rough if those pipes are leaking
  13. If it's got a decent engine it's probability worth more than the car.
  14. My cars in storage click when battery is low.
  15. Have you had the battery tested ? its possible if its stood around it could be flat, have you tryed jump starting it off another car ?
  16. Was it ok before ,or did you buy the car not running ?
  17. It's never been a classic car show,it is Ford fair, basically anything that's Ford which is fair enough ,but I still think it's getting to expensive for a one day show compared to other car shows.
  18. Wow,bet that was heart breaking after all that work. On the plus side at least it did not happen at high speed ,could have been fatal.
  19. Got a good engine and even a 130 bhp upgraded cam for sale if your interested
  20. Stu,your message box is full, you need to empty some m8
  21. Nice, would look better on mine tho lol
  22. Try Dmb graphics or failing that most sign company's should be able to reproduce them.
  23. If you can't get them from Ford,go to a europarts centre near to you, they sell pattern parts.
