  2. Hi Guys, I wondered if there was anyone out there that can assist me! I have a Mk5 cabby that I am gradually restoring and recently had the beast resprayed, although unfortunately the guy that did it talked a good game although wasn't quite as clued up as he thought. The hood was obviously loosened in order to undertake this, however upon completion he was unable to properly refix the trim that retains the hood to the rear of the car ( near the boot). This now means the hood cannot be used as once the hood starts retracting the rear of the hood springs up as it is no longer held

  5. Hello everyone, I've just joined the forum in the hope that someone can help me find my wife's old car to hopefully buy back for her. I'm not holding out much hope as the DVLA database says the tax ran out on 1 Dec 2005 and there is no MOT data on the system. This either means then that the reg has changed or it has been off the road for all this time. Just in case anyone can help though, the car was a light metallic blue (not sure what it was called) XR3i, first registered in Apr 1989 and the VRN was F959WRL. I'm keen to track the car down, even if it is just a chassis to hopefull
  6. Hello everyone I've just signed up in the hope of tracking down my wife's old car. I would love to find it even just the chassis so that we can work to get her back up together and on the road again. I'll post the details in the chat forum to see if anyone can help.

  13. Hi Yep I tried Ebay or the similar thing ( Marktplaats ) over here but do not like buying stuff unless they have OEM Nos or they look identical and sometimes you just cant see from all angles or the Nos With Breakers Yards because of Covid there Shut over here for the moment so waiting as most people to get in there again to find some bits The https://ford.7zap.com/en/car/ link was good thanks for that.
  14. I do not know if dealers still have them, but many breakers still would. Have you tried ebay? You can see what part numbers they are at https://ford.7zap.com/en/car/
  15. The cabriolet would have had additional metal to make it stiffer due to the roof being removed. Although it still would not be 100% as stiff as a tin top.
  16. Welcome mate i was the exact same and got another 1 i was also here years ago lol Del
