The Escorts Time Might Be Up

After 6 years having my mk4 cab I think its the end if the road. I did plan on using it this summer but its not financially good for me, after tax insurance and a set up (runs iffy), and where its been sat all winter the water pump is now leaking, its not worth it for the odd outing in the sun. I've got a baby on the way and can't justify spending any more time or money on it, I've already spent about 10k on it to get it how I want over the years.

I'm in two minds what to do, I won't sell it complete because its got to much sentimental value to me for a few reasons. And I don't really want to just leave it standing, it costs 600 a year to keep it where it is, I'm thinking the option is to strip it down. I know id regret it, this car means the world to me and I'm not ashamed to say it brought tears to my eyes yesterday thinking about it.

The one pic I took of it yesterday

Its the 260 tax that does me in insurance is cheap.

Would be a shame to strip it down . You could sell it abroad you would not see it agains.

That's where I am lucky me and my dad own ours I pay for the garage he pays for tax and insurance the looks and comments I have had recently make it worth while a few people tell me to ditch my new focus and just have the escort but I feel it would lose the appeal as a daily driver good luck with what ever you decide

Nearly had to get rid of mine before christmas just because of the starting problems i have and the fact that the wife hates it  but shes calmed down now and ive put my foot down and said im keeping it untill its a write off! id regret it forever if i got rid of it, especially as i have near eneough a complete one in spares as well as lots of new unfitted parts ive got ready for a restoration  and £10G wow i thought mine owed me too much at £2G and mines looks battered for now

Keep it you know you want too

Still unsure, I want to strip it but not sure I can bring myself to do it.

Family etc just say sell it, I'd rather burn it to the ground and get fuck all for it than sell it.

I think in time you will get another, once you got in your blood mate it never goes away you have the pleasure of building it to your spec and in time you will prob do it again. Yeah I'll prob end up getting another no doubt, I might buy an Orion for the summer that's ready to go then sell again after.

you gotta have a nice car when the sun and the birds are out!!

I get more stress than enjoyment from the cab.

I look to buy a nice clean one thats strait and do simple mods wheels, exhaust, filter. Or i buy one that someone has spent thousands on and but it for pennys, let someone else spend all there money. You know that you will never get it all back.

Im in the same situation mate.

Just sold mine after 14 and a half years of owning it, So much work goes into keeping them roadworthy.

The worst part is pulling on the drive expecting it to still be there but luckily its gone to liverpool so i dont have to see it anymore but I do wish i had stored it away.

P.s Kids grow up so quickly... Keep it... my daughter loved mine
