We've been very busy over the last few months and I've now been give permision to put photos up for the people that have not been visited this weekend or had sneaky photos.

We started with this end of last year...........

And we've gone through various stages including a trip for a full colour change.

Its white. Ford Frozen white (not Transit white)

bigcabwhite032.jpg

Wheels back on

BIGCABWHITE001.jpg

Standard back lights, relocated fuel filler and black spoiler

BIGCABWHITE004.jpg

Engine is all shiny altough you cant tell under all the dust. It will be shiny again

bigcabwhite027.jpg

Badges back on, a couple of stickers and some different wheels and we're about done.

bigcabwhite026.jpg

bigcabwhite025.jpg

2, thats right 2 roof pumps, one for the roof and one for the boot lid. lol

Still got lots of work to do but the main jobs are sorted. Just got to sort interior and boot. The wheels need a paint, either white again or black but we're still not sure.

I'd like to think we can do more this year. Clare didnt feel it last year with the wrap on so hoepfully she'll be better this year.

And I need to redo my membership.

The new wheels were a little untidy and ruining the look so they got a little rub down last night, they were lime green and black. lol

The wheels NEEDED painting. And the colour was a major debate. When we bought the wheels the idea was to paint em black, so i bought the paint before we got the wheels home. But when we test fitted the wheels we actually liked them white too. Because we already had the paint we kept to the plan.

They are a stepping stone to some new ones. We've seen some we like at www.imagewheels.co.uk

The ones we've seen / want are 19". We're having minimum 13j for rear and 9j for front. They do upto 15j but they say the tyres would need to be specially made at £££££££££££. If we stick to 13j they can supply 345/25 19 tyres for £200 each. We paid £150 each for the ones on the chromes. The fronts would be 235/35 19 so they should be cheaper. lol

The chromes are currently on ebay and if they sell we'll be straight on phone to image. If they dont sell we're still having them but we'll need to save up for a bit. boooooo. Then they'll take up 8 weeks to make. :-(

I want the 'classic' rieger euro look with silly deep dish, but i refuse to go down to 15" wheels again.

I really wanted to go for the 15j and have some rediculous size. But £300 or ever £400 for a tyre takes the piss. lol.

Also I've just looked again and the tyres for the 19" x 13j would only be 325/25 19

It was daft, I looked at 18" 19" and 20" and you think itd be simple

IIRC

18" they recomended no wider than 13j

19" no wider than 14j

20" only go to 12j

THey make all upto 15j but you just cant get tyres. pah!

Oh and a carbon bonnet is on the want list too. We're going to Santapod in 2 weeks and there's usually a guy selling carbon bonnets there. And he's usually got a Mk3 on display. We're going to pester him ALL WEEKEND for a good deal. Free would be nice.

They are but I cant see it happening. lol. IIRC it was about £350 ish but it looked amazing.

It was never on the cards when we had the chrome and big wheel look, but now were doing the more sporty look a carbon bonnet should look good.

I'd try to buy the display one if I can, anything off the RRP would be a bonus.

Did a bit more last night, removed wheels and t-cut them to make them a little shinier and painted the calipers white. I think they look good. We could never see the brakes with the chromes so we've got a whole new bit of the car to clean. lol.

bigcabwhite036.jpg

Also did a little bit of recycling (to save the planet and my pocket).

I've cut an old mk3 grill up to make some fins for the air intake on the side. I think it looks a shit load better than the original mesh we had.
