oh no i missed the royal wedding :ohmy: too busy trying to sort its new problem :angry:

petrol tank has got a leak, it has a tiny dent and i cant even see a hole, its pin sized, must of happend last night :angry:

 

 

its fooked all the paint on the tank lol, and wasted god knows how much go go juice :ohmy:

cant get hold of a tank today, everywhere said tuesday :angry:

and yes it is crap! still leaks, new tank is defo on the cards for next week, only trouble is the filler neck is tiger sealed in place, so not sure whats gunna happen there :angry::unsure:

hows bout gettin the new tank powder coated stu?

dependin on the rust on mine round the filler pipe, new or old i'l b gettin it powder coated wen it's time 2 go bak on....

just gunna put it straight on, ive worked out about the filler pipe now :wink:

i put more of that petro patch shite on to get me through a few days, it dont leak after you do it, drive it then the leaks start, so is dripping out as we speak :angry:

 

just hope i can actually get a tank tuesday :mellow:

 

ive also orderd some goodies off ebay for it, :biggrin:

i have had a few mk4's with leaking petrol tanks they normally leak from the seam in them about 1/2 down but when it weeps out and collects on the bottom it does mostof its paint removal damage try just runing it with no more than £10 in and see if that stops the leak thats worked for me just dont forget to keep a jerry can in the boot till ya sorted. :sad:

I take it its only 1 hole then or a small group of holes??

 

if so i find chemical metal is quite handy stuff stick a 10p over the hole then once the chemical met. goes off give it a thin covering over that that should do the trick as a temp fix :banana_dance:

fitted it this morning, fuel filler neck pipe giving me a headache tho, chopped it in half lol

first rubber hose wasnt long enough :sad: so i scouted about at work and found this hose in the science department lol

its not a perfect fit on the pipe, but will do, aslong as it dont leak when i fill up, will have to wait and see :unsure:

 

but on the plus side, the new tank is on and it lives again! :laugh:

well, the joys of it. after finally sorting my door problem, the roof handle snapped, with thanks to avril thats sorted now. on to the next problem, the gearbox mount bracket decided to break, two bolts have snapped off in the gearbox casing about 10mm in so cant get them lol, so thats been bodged up but it works :biggrin: but the box now leaks oil, so will have to keep topping up :laugh: it whines in 1st and 2nd anyway. any more probs that aint easy fixed then im gunna sorn it, i have engine and bay plans.

 

anyway, enuf moaning :laugh::laugh::laugh:

tiger sealed the back of the holes for the filler for the front

one is done, on the other the paint kept reacting :angry: so il do it again for about the third time now. and still got to do the window winder blanks.

 

also for a bonus, here is the gearbox oil that leaked out in two days with it sitting

Nice one on the interior paint work m8, it all looks like new!!. how do you think that paint will stand up to wear and tear over time??

hopefully it will last, avril has done pritty much her whole interior with it and it has seemed to last fine. also i had them painted before, that lasted 3 years ok and still looked the same, so fingers crossed!

winder blanks, hate these, but cant find 88 spec door cards in good condition with out the hole for the winders :sad:

there not even the propper plugs, just rubber bung thinggys, rubbish! but better now there painted, but still shite.
