Guest gavintwopies
i have had a few mk4's with leaking petrol tanks they normally leak from the seam in them about 1/2 down but when it weeps out and collects on the bottom it does mostof its paint removal damage try just runing it with no more than £10 in and see if that stops the leak thats worked for me just dont forget to keep a jerry can in the boot till ya sorted. gingergman
wont work, the leak is rite at the bottom of the tank, will leak till empty
Guest gavintwopies
I take it its only 1 hole then or a small group of holes?? if so i find chemical metal is quite handy stuff stick a 10p over the hole then once the chemical met. goes off give it a thin covering over that that should do the trick as a temp fix
gingergman
yay, a box yummy new tank fitted it this morning, fuel filler neck pipe giving me a headache tho, chopped it in half lol first rubber hose wasnt long enough so i scouted about at work and found this hose in the science department lol and fitted (or bodged even) its not a perfect fit on the pipe, but will do, aslong as it dont leak when i fill up, will have to wait and see but on the plus side, the new tank is on and it lives again!
