  1. I should have said it did 269mph in the run i snapped in the piccies...
  2. Well I thought I'd do a separate post for the Jet car piccies.....its was amazing!
  3. Have you done anything with your speaker pods? I changed mine nd thought the little wires attached to the back of them were earth wires....so I attched them to the car body...then my roof wouldn;t work at all! ha! It was only when someone said that they were not earth wires and their purpose was to connect to the tonneu cover poppers that it became apparent that when I earthed them that the roof wouldn't work because it alwys though the tonneau cover was attached! ha!. So maybe one of your wires has come loose and connected itself to the cr body! Only a thought if it turns out its not your relays or something else. Thanks Avril
  4. The red one was nice Mark...it turned up in a box as the car had been written off, and the guy I was with at the time put it into a new shell which you could get from fords at that time. So it was like having a brand new car. I wonder if its still alive somewhere!
  5. Ha! ha! Stuart I think you probably have seen them before........ I owned the majority of them around the late 80's and into the 90's. I should have kept the red Xr3i as that was like a brand new car. I think the Black cabby is still alive somewhere, and keep waiting for it to pop up on this site at sometime! ha! Thanks Avril
  6. Well I have searched for a new camp site this year as quite a few members didn't think much of the one last year or the year before. So I have found the following called The New Rookery Farm. They only normally open up for the big Silverstone events, however they said if we get enough members (10+) wanting to camp that they will open up for us. It is £12.50 per adult and £5 per child (10years and under) per night. It sounds a lot better than the others we have stayed at and is close the the Silverstone circuit. http://www.grandprix-camping.co.uk/ Let me know what you all think and if your interested in camping then add you name to the post. Thanks Avril
  7. People didn't like it John due to the hills and shower block wasn't that good, so I thought I'd look for another alternative this year....then everyone can choose and we can have a vote.....I don't mind where we go really. I could always ring Whittlebury and see if we can have that nice blocked off flat area. Thanks Avril
  8. Just posted a piccy of my old yellow van for colin to see, oh and thought I'd add the others as my old post had disappeared! ha! Thanks Avril
  9. Ha! ha! Stuart, I will have a shuftie and put some suggestions up about camping. The last 2 sites (whittlebury and Hamilton fields) didn't go down too well so we'll find somehwere else tht hopefully is ok for everyone. Thanks Avril
  10. Thanks John and Andy for your comments. I thought i'd just add to my post to say I have the proper tempreature switches fitted now, and his guage reading is now happy again. I have booked him in for tuning next weekend and the nice man is also going to fit his polished Throttle housing at the same time as apparently that can make a difference to his running! ha! I am so happy now that its swapped and he does feel like a new car....and he is so much faster! ha! thanks Avril
  11. Yes Tony I'm really happy that its all working ok. I've now done 120miles and all seems to still be ok thank god. I'll be happy when he's done 1000 miles and got run it properly. Thanks Avril
  12. Hi, I found these heater matrix on ebay for the Mk4 and thought they may help. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-ESCORT-CABRIOLET-MK4-HEATER-MATRIX-/260788346775?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cb8325f97 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Escort-Mk3-Mk4-Heater-Matrix-XR3i-RS-Turbo-Orion-/260776834018?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cb782b3e2 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ESCORT-MK4-XR3i-RS-TURBO-HEATER-MATRIX-COMPLETE-/260781295412?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cb7c6c734 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ford-escort-mk4-heater-matrix-unit-/320706890008?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aab9ec918 Thanks Avril
  13. I forgot to mention that I haven't swapped his rocker cover over yet, and the Throttle housing that i poilished up hasn't been swapped yet either. So hopefully those will be done during the week along with his new throttle cable, then he should be all happy for the Show next weekend. The polished inlet manifold, Thermostat housing and cold start bits were fitted though and it looks much better. I just need to do something about the distributor now as that looks dirty.
  14. Well the deed has been done today and Skippy's transplant has taken place! He's come through his op well so far and the only small issue is that I seem to have got the wrong tempreature switch so his fan's not kicking in until a little bit later than it used to. But apart from that he feels like he has a new lease of life.....seems much quicker of the mark and more responsive, and definitely more power than he had before! ha! So here's some piccies of the proceedings! ha! starting with the old engine being taken out. I also managed to clen some of the engine bay up whilst the engine was out.I don't think its been cleaned since he was new!
  15. Ha! Ha! Savage, Thats down to Stuart (Gingerman) he's started the crazy! ha! I had to squeeze mine out today though as he was soaking wet and looking a bit sorry for himself! ha!
  16. Your right Staurt, us plebbies cant see the list! ha! so we have to ask! I'm going and should be camping, providing we can find a nice camp site.....last 2 haven't been that good. thanks Avril
  17. I managed to get the other piccies downloaded from my camera so here's somemore of his fuel tank and stuff! ha!
  18. Well Skippy's new engine trnsplant has finlly arrived and is being done tomorrow and Saturday....so I have gathered all the shiny bits together that i have prepared for him to go with his new engine. I will add some piccies of his new engine once i fish it out of my nephews workshop where it has been hiding since xmas.
  19. Ha! ha! Chaz, well I want him to last and be happy for another 20+ years! ha!. And now i've started I might as well finish! I will post some more piccies later. Thanks Avril
  20. I thought I'd just post a piccy of Skippy's new fuel stuff that I had fitted last week. I got a new tank last year and fuel pump and holder, oh and I cleaned up a filler pipe and fuel tank strap and pipes. Unfortunately most of the piccies are on my other phone and I have a problem getting them off it. So at the moment i only hve this ne piccy. Other piccies will hopefully follow!
