  1. Hi Ollie and everyone we are back now having done over 2400 miles, and all the driving up and down the mountains caused Skippy's wheels nearly to come off down the Alps, we caught the loosened bolts just in time! ha!. I thought it was something terminal and that he would be coming home on a trailer, but it was sort of good that it was just his wheel bolts. Was a great trip and thanks to Karen for navigating through some very challenging areas. We went round the Monaco circuit a couple of times which was absolutely brilliant. On the way down to Monaco we visited the Millau Bridge, then Marseille, St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, and finally stopped in Monaco for a rest before setting off on our way back which we did going into Italy and up down the Alps eventually arriving in Gevene on the border of France and Switzerland. We went over the highest paved road in the alps which was something like 2800m high and we actaully had some snow/sleet whilst we were up there and it was freezing compared to the weather we had left in Monaco. Whilst in Monaco we had an apartment right opposite all the big yatchs and it was amazing to see how the other half live especially when one of them was sold for 49 million dollars! We went through 8 countries in the end and arrived home last Saturday. Apart from the drive back after the Alps we had the roofs down most of the time and it was brilliant weather. I will try and upload some piccies and video when I get a moment.
  2. There is a car show at the Trinity Park Suffolk Show Ground near Ipswich on Sunday 24th August. Ollie suggested that I put up a post to see if anyone else is interested. It is a NASC show, but it has a retro section and they said we could attend. The entry is £10 per car and more details are on the following link. A few of us are intending on meeting at the Shepherd and Dog pub car park which is on the old Felixstowe Road at 9am Sunday, so if anyone else is interested and wants to join us please let me know. I can be contacted on 07759 740342. Thanks Avril http://www.rodandcustom.co.uk/events-nationals.html

  8. Hi Ollie, Yes that sounds good so count me and Skippy in. Do you have to buy tickets beforehand, or is it pay on the day? Thanks Avril
  9. I think there were only 4 of us in the end John and we needed at least 10 to retain our crown! ha!. So hopefully we will get more members coming to the next shows.
  10. Ha! ha! Dennis that is amusing..............I was more gutted for Ian though as poor Bruce did come off worse. I must admit I was a little frightened to get out and look though as the bang did make all the things jump out of my console! ha! It just shows how good the filled bumpers are, even after 20+years, as all it did to Skippy was a few dents and scratches in his bumper and a slight pushing in of the body work behind it, but it wasn't as bad as I would have expected after seeing what happened to poor 'Bruce's' front! Anyway I hope to get Skippy done before the next show. Thanks Avril
  11. Well I think me and skippy will be coming....after the last few days of hot sunny weather I had to go and get him taxed as I couldn't wait any longer! ha! So he's due out of his nest tomorrow and then i can give him a nice little run about and a service beforehand to make sure he's happy. So i'll be coming up the A1 if anyone is coming up from the south/east. Will be nice to see everyone again. Thanks Avril
