205's would of been nicer, do you mean standard bolts? bought a load of new ones a while back (standard size) and i have a set of standard size locking bolts but prob gonna buy another set too

Nice to know how my same wheels are gonna look when i get my toyos stretched on . and they are def gonna catch the arches as ive found out on countless google searches im def gonna buy one of them arch rolling devices methinks. and im still debating whether to paint em gold!! lol

Took block off yesterday to find out that the clutch was nearly non existent and a spring was snapped, how it was running ok i dnt know! found a few more issues too, light bit of rust here and there, not too bad tho ill take some pics tomoz and the gear box need a good clean inside the bell housing, prob got another dodgy crank oil seal on that side.

Mission aborted for now as im having a moment or two First i tightened the engine mount up too much and the bolt snapped and then i tightened the crank pulley to tight and then bust it again in frustration. All because i didnt want to drop the block, it now looks like im gonna have to do that now, which isnt much hassle as the rad is out and the head is off etc. On a good note tho i mayaswell change the clutch whilst its out to save changing it at a later date

This one might be one youve seen before, Escort GT Turbo engine (US) but it has a later Non injection cam cover on it apparently

These ones are EFI heads out of the Fiesta rs / XR2i and obv escort xr3i efi

just did half an hour of googling, the one with the square pattern is a mfi pre 85 head like this one and is apparently the best mfi head due to it having a lot of meat/metal to be able to put bigger valves in it etc

Tightened my engine mount up a bit too much after sliding the oil pump back on and ive bust it GRRR! my own fault tho as i only ever use a torque wrench for head bolts

Crank pulley i smashed off was much easier than getting all stressed over it lol, and i jizzed all over my engine to get rid of all the gunk. Never had a cvh rocker gasket with these little silver metal pellet things before hmmm and i thought id ordered a rubber one new temp sensor in pic too, got rocker gasket, temp sensor, thermostat and three spare exhaust rubbers for £16 of GSF car parts bargain!! Oh and few pics of my cheeky new puppy called Eira, pain in the arse when she runs of with nuts and bolts lol

###ing crank timing belt pulley wont come off now, had a similar issue with the alternator pulley GRRRRRRR!!!! might just smash it off with the oil pump On a good note tho the original head gasket wasnt too bad, prob had a thousand miles or so left in it, and the piston crowns and valves were not as crispy as i thought they would be, getting there slowly! but keep on finding extra jobs to add to the list

i agree good work your doing and im the same even though i have mechanical knoweledge even if i have never done something id rather do it myself rather than get ripped off by a garage etc

Just added all my receipts up from over the past 3 and half years and my car with all the new/old spares and my new wheels/tyres owes the me the grand total of...... £2,878.97 Not bad considering the escort cosworth wheels and tyres owe me £800 and ive got a spare cab in parts apart from shell/hood and driveshafts it will be going up tho as my seats are gonna cost me £1400 and i still need to respray it still though it will be under 5 grand and it will be how i want it

Hmm cant see how that could of packed up as its only where the power wires pass through to get to the pump spade terminal ends.. is it corroded inside etc ? You could drill a hole through it (and obviously use a rubber grommet to prevent the wire rubbing) and rewire a good length of wire through to some new spade terminals but the problem there is that fumes/pressure might escape if not sealed properly Have you tried ebay/breakers as that top part should be cheap, without the sender/pump -
Thanks, stressed me out a little earlier as the crank pulley wouldnt come off, whacked it with hammer, had crow bar on it and all sorts. Eventually when i was giving up it fell off ha ha
