  1. Hi there were 2 types of pump used on the mk6. Does yours have a black cylinder outer casing?
  2. Is your roof pump the one with the black cylinder casing? if so, most likely the plastic cog has broken. Easily fixed thou. Need to open the pump to find out.
  3. Oil/grease the runner's tracks maybe? unless the runner is bent, can't think why it's not going down
  4. It's clipped in, but given the age of the plastic, will probably snap if removed. you don't need to remove the connector to fit the loom. Just push loom connector in, but check that the wire colours match up on either side.
  5. Car and interior looks very smart:-) once you get the sagging door cards sorted, the interior would look mint.
  6. Hi the big relay goes behind the battery. It attaches to the black grid behind the battery. You need to remove the windscreen scuttle first thou. Also, regards to the grey main connector for the hfs loom, check the colouring of the wires matches at both ends. The HFS loom itself and that of the cars existing wiring.
  7. Hi The mystery plug is for the iscv, when this valve was originally fitted onto the airbox. you car has the factory revision for iscv placement, so this plug is not required. The pipe that is sticking out looks like someone had tried to plug up the hole. You should have a black blanking cover there, similar to the one in mass1v's photo. As long as that hole is covered properly than that is unlikely to be the problem. Stalling at junctions is a common efi issue and is usually cured by decarbonising the iscv and base idle screw port.

    Mk5B Parts

Has your fusebox packed up? these can be fixed easily. I have a tutorial within these forums on how to do this. It would be hard to find a decent working one. Did mine 5 yrs ago and fine ever since.
  9. Unlikely, the OP has a mk5, so have 4 switches for the windows and one for the child lock.
  10. Assuming you are referring to the original ford spotlights, your mk4 should already have the fog light wiring, as it was standard spec. Check for a pair of loose wires by the radiator. Other than the lamps you will need the suitable brackets too.
  11. When I checked two years ago you could still get the rear rubber trim. You're best checking with your local ford dealer. Or try fordpartsuk on the net. They usually ny old stock from other ford garages. I got my rear trim second hand from a cab that had only covered 60k, so it was like New. I too need to get my rear arches restored.
  12. Explains why you cannot find the relays under the seat! Mk6 Cabrios had one touch lowering on all windows. Hence had 4 relays, three of which are located under the rear seat. Mk5's did not have this feature. Pushing all 4 buttons should not normally cause any issues (I've done it many times myself). There must be a common connection somewhere under the centre console (since the wiring for the rear switches on the console, have to come together in order for the child lock button to work. Have you tried checking the loom under the console?
  13. Do the rear window switches at the rear light up, when you have headlights on?
  14. The wiring between the two models are different. For a mk6 cabrio, it would be rare for both rear windows to fail together. I put together a wiring diagram for the rear windows. And there is no common point, other than switch. The child lock was the best guess. Maybe the child lock switch has failed? I'm not familiar with the mk5 wiring though.
  15. Which model cabrio have you got, Mk5 or mk6?
  16. Yes, its where the ecu sits. Carpet trim is standard ford. Has someone moved your ecu?
  17. Wow! Nice pics. Nice to see the usual suspects and some new cabs too. Wish I could have been there.
  18. How come you want to give the cab up?
  19. No boot carpet i'm afraid. If I see a cab in a breakers yard, i'll pick one up. Got cambelt to do on mine. Will do water pump at same time. e.
  20. Have fun guys. I have cycle event tomorrow so not displaying this year. But might pop up around 4 ish and say hello if time permits.
  21. Both my arches need doing. i'll go for a proper cut out and weld job. managed to source a gen Ford rear wing, so one side at least, can be replaced with new part. Managed to pick up a gen Ford wind deflector from eBay last mth, ultra mint and only 26 quid! also my boot is rusty where the spoiler sits. Need to source a boot from a spolier- less model. Also check the metal under the rear rubber trim that goes around the base of the roof. The double skin rots here and deforms the rubber.
  22. Nice one Stu, For a moment there I thought I was seeing pics of mine, haha. Looks pretty tidy from these photos. Anything major need doing like the rear arches? Are you planning on keeping the spec as it is? The Calypso cabrios are pretty basic in terms of spec. I've upgraded mine to: Electric wing mirrors Map reading lights Wood dash, gear surround, radio and gearknob ( not to everyones taste thou.) Heated front screen loom Chrome rear number plate surround Front strut brace (still to be fitted!) Electric rear windows. Gen Ford Wind deflector. Slightly off topic, that's one slammed Renault in the background?!

    Ford Graphic Equaliser

Which radio cassette do you currently have? You will need the 2007 (ECU2) radio to partner with the unit.
  24. Hi Stu, All cleared now Regards
  25. If you dont have air con the best loom to source for the engine bay is the variant less air con, but with the heated washer jet loom built in. Then you have heated jets and windscreen
