    My Cab

Very nice, What do you plan doing?
  2. Very nice. Original is best
  3. Oh and get a fresh mot to bolster your chances.
  4. Hi Depending on condition they go for about £300-£2000 on ebay. £2000 would be the low mileage car in as new condition as poss. Without seeing condition it is had to tell, but you should get £300 easily for it on ebay. But I would aim higher, say around £500-£800. Check out ebay and see what other similar cars are going for.

    Crash Damage

Or dear, sorry to hear about that. Some people should not be alloweds behind the wheel of a car. Is there any damage to the wings?

    Wind Deflector

I brought a new bodi one for my MK6 cab last month. Works very well with the roof down and all windows up. Well worth it. Just make sure it is connected properly. The rear of the deflector is further secured by the roof cover, so it should never just fly off the car. Also noticed that if you leave it in the car with the roof up overnight, you get that distinctive new car smell. Bonus!
  7. Nice one, cheap and easy fix;
  8. Hi, No manual way as far as I know. The side with the retaining screw is easy, as it is easily accessible with the window up. Normally as you would lower the window for easier access to the remove the other channel, you may have to find a way to prise the window from this channel. Having small hands available might help. You oonly need to carry out adjustment to the alignment of window if you replace the full window mech. If you're just replacing the motor, you shouldn't have to carry out the adjustment process.
  9. Black Mohair/fabric roofs are standard on all mk6 cabriolets from mid 1996. But with Ghia cabrios, the original buyer could pick another colour for the roof. If they did it will be a vinyl type roof. Fabric roofs last much longer than vinyl ones and look nicer too, Can;t understand why any first owner will pick vinyl over a fabric roof tho?
  10. How come your Mk6 R reg has a vinyl roof? What was the first owner thinking!!
  11. Hi They should be screwed into place. Open roof. Remove the rear bench, Remove bolt securing passengers rear seatbelt - this will allow you to remove the rear card, Remove upper seatbelt mounting and put to one side. Also remove lower seatbelt mounting rail. It's just a case of then remove read panel card, after undoing all the screws. Remove window outer weatherstrip and rear rubber block. Use screwdriver to remove window from mech. This may have to be done by initally lowering the window for access., and then rasing it to remove the other side and the retaining screw. Remove window. Remove three screws securing the mech to the car & disconect the wiring, Change motor over. Check to see if it's working. NB remember to temporarily connect the rear window switch before trying as this forms part of the circut. Put everything back. Hope this helps. Good to have a garage or a nice sunny day like today to do it in!

    Roof Pipes

Hi Is your pump go a black cylinder body? If I recall, it's undo the retaining bolt and just pull out the unions.
  13. Nice Mk6, good to see more of these. Recommend you change those wheels though, and go for some GTI style alloys.
  14. Fluffy dice, haven't seen those in ages. Used to have them on the all-blue back in the day (long long ago)
  15. Plenty of rear electric motors/mechs on ebay usually. Is your elec aerial not working?
  16. Hi Burt, Is the noise itself coming from the actual motor itself (in the engine bay) or does it appear to come from somewhere behind the dash?
  17. Please note, Efi and mfi water bottles are different. Best regards
  18. Good work going on there John. Glad to hear you cabby didn't get burnt out like those other cars
  19. Get well soon Avril. Hope to see you at the car shows this year.
  20. Hi Mark 5/6/7 door seals should still be available from the Ford dealer. Reasonable prices - I brought a seal for one or the rear side windows and it came out to £12.
  21. Hi, On the left and right hand side of the benches hidden within the rescesses. You don't have to take the rear card out to access them. There should be one relay on the drivers side of the car and two on the passengers side. You should be able to see the tip of them sticking out from the recess. In the bodywork modifications section, I have a post entitled MK6 electric rear window conversion. Got a couple of pics of the area in there. Hope this helps
  22. Also the rear electric switches look identical between M5/6, but they are different. This is down to the wiring arrangment being different. When I brought some new ones for the rear from Ford, they listed two types, one for MK5 & one MK6. Just make sure your rear switches are MK6 ones.
  23. Hi, Motor is possible culprit, but worthwhile checking the wiring between the relay (under rear bench) and the rear window motor. Mk5 & MK6 electric mechanishms are both the same. I can't remember if the motors are both the same tho. Also might be worth checking the rear electric switch, as this is also part of the rear window circut.
  24. It would be unusual for it to leak from the motor side, as all fluid is confined to the resevoir. I guess a strip down of the pump is needed to locate to problem area, in the first instance.
