Himanshu
I have been searching for a person to give me a second, opinion, well valuation, for the classic car insurance agreed valuation. The people Lancaster use only value my 1985 Mk3 All-White-I cab at £1000. Its absolutely stunning condition. If any one could help with details for people who might be able to value it with certificate of current vlaue I would appreciate it.

Himanshu
I was quoted £123 but strict 1000, miles, garaged, etc etc. However a low insurance premium is no good, if the valuation is unrealistic, these cars, are far and few between and getting rarer by the day,

.dan.
Lancaster gave me an agreed valuation of 18k on my camper van, for £130. self certified through a local vw restoration company, all I had to do was get them to sign a piece of headed paper to the effect of a description and saying what it was worth and supply 6 photos. cab is currently sorned but costs £150 through Lancaster with 3000miles. Guest Alanman
The photos are half the battle so if the photos dont do it justice that will be the issue. They always say 6 photos but I'd send them more, the more the merrier. Any at show will go a long way too, its shows it's looked after and cherished. If there's been any major work done send photos of that too. Any receipts showing the work done on it over the last couple years will help. How long have you had it and how much did you pay? If its a new purchase and you only paid the £1000 then you will struggle to get ANYONE to give you a higher value for at least the first year. The basic function of insurance is to put you in the same financial position after an incident as you were before. The more you send them the more success you will have. You need to persuade them your cabby is above average and worth more. Swamp them with information, clipping (or screen shots) of articles about the 'all white'. They are insurance clerks at the end of the day and may not realise what you have. To most insurance advisors you simply have an old Escort. How far out is their value? What value did you ask for? If you're talking £1500 then just a bit more persuading should do it. If you're wanting £5000 then you might have a battle.

Himanshu
Got the valuation which is good for 1 year, (sounds like Lancaster want to charge me every year for a valuation business must be bad.) they valued it at £4500, however because of the increase in the value, form £1000 that the RAC valued it in 2001 the premium has gone up to £160. limited to £1000 miles p/a.Hope this helps anyone else.
