gingergman
my mate has just brought this 1.4 mk5 dash model cabriolet off another freind, the plan is to just do it up, so yesterday we cracked on with the body to get it ready for when we paint it, so a few pics blister paint on the bonnet the body only has a few niggles, slight arch work, door needs attention, and the boot lid split in the boot caused by the spoiler and after a bit of my fabulous welding skills
gingergman
few other holes in the boot by the spoiler sorted and aeriel hole welded up the door lock hole was shagged from attempted break in so just cut a square out (not exactly neatly done i know!!) spoiler is up for grabs and a bonus pic for you old ford lovers we aim to paint it in a week or two, so plenty of updates to come! what ya reckon? much love

gingergman
after much rubbing down, today was the day the paint got layed down, its supposed to be "Fantasy Midnight Blue" but its more like black with a bit of sparkle. so, a few pics, no pics of first few coats without lacquer, but just kind of looked matt black. then lacquer never pushed it outside so couldnt get a good pic. were just going to leave it a week or two now then flat it back and then mop it up, oh and put it back together lol, Edited June 24, 2012 by gingergman

gingergman
hey sonny, it is fixable but really not worth it, ideally needs a new rear quater panel, it damaged the door, full rear quater, bumper and the rear wheel! still waiting on the bus companys insurance, it will no doubt be put on ebay spares repairs lol. as for my car, im cracking on with it now, been busy with the good ole vw's! but the cab will be at a couple of shows next year two years off is long enough
