Well Skippy was woken up today and fired up straight away. Seemed he was egar to get out of his nest! ha! ha! And tonight he had his new hubs and carriers fitted and the refurb powder coated wheels. Then Friday the new metering hoses......cant wait!:smile::smile:

So I thought I'd take some piccies as he had just come out of the garage, although not sure he likes the cold much. He has never been up this early in the year before.

Thanks all for your comments! He had made a mess of his nest Tony! ha! and was getting restless so had to come out early so he can be driven about a bit before the shows start.

He's very unhappy tonight though as its feezing and he has ice on him. Also we fitted his rear drums and things tonight an found that his rear brakes are not so happy as the brake fluid wasn't bleeding through so after they did some tests it looks like a new master cylinder is needed!

So hopefully by tomorrow night he should be happy again.

Thanks

Hiya

I like your cab - colour, bodykit, condition and standard orange indicators too!

Nice to hear skippy started first time, how long was she hibernating for?

I going to be waking mine up too later this month when the weather warms up a little. She has not been driven for almost four years. Have to see how it goes

Thanks Allblue, Skippy was only hibernating since November as he was kept out a bit longer last year. Normally he goes to bed in October and comes out in April. He has always fired up first time when he comes out but does take a couple of weeks of driving about to blow the cob webs off so to speak and get him back to normal.

I hope yours goes well when you get her out Allblue, and how to see you at some of the shows this year.

Thanks

Avril

Well I thought I better update the post on Skippy's master cylinder problem. It seems that the master cylinder wasn't broken in the end. He had his metering hoses fitted yesterday morning and whilst he was running they checked his brakes again and the fluid was flowing so they bled them and all seems well now.

So he's been for his first drive out and went well.

As for his shaking problem thats some will know about( his steering wheel used to shake like mad when braking but only between 40-30mph), that he has had for about 4 years now, it seems it must have been related to the hubs or hub carriers as he had his new ones fitted last week and when I drove him yesterday for the first run out it seems the shaking has gone! At last!:biggrin::biggrin:

I will put somemore piccies up of his new metering hoses fitted and his seats once I get them fitted today.

Its a lovely sunny day today so hope everyone is out having fun in they cabbies!

Thanks

Avril x

Well what a great day! I have managed to fit Skippy's new seats, although haven't done the door cards yet as needed to go for a drive before it got dark.

So here are some piccies of Skippy complete with his new seats fitted.:biggrin::biggrin:

four years of shaking, it must be glourious now lol :banana_dance::steeringwheel:

Yes Stuart it was a nightmare, although he only did it when braking between 40-30mph, above and below he was fine, but it did grate on me! ha! So had a mission starting last year to cure it, and finally the new hubs, carriers, and rear drums see to have done the trick.

So I'm well pleased :smile::biggrin::smile::biggrin::biggrin:
