gingergman
right then, its been awhile lol, so bit of an update! i just left the car un-touched untill last weekend, so to start, a ramdom pic of it wedged in my garage lol first off is the windscreen, anyone who read my screen rubber issue will understand lol, so here is last weeks removal pics the only bit of rust, was abit worried lol, now treated my mate steve with the new screen and rubber but the rubber was a mk3 and didnt bloody fit, so after getting a used mk4 one in the week i cut the brand new one out (nice waste of 37 quid)

MarineIguana
Wow that screen was looking knackered lol, and you have extra light weight lights (remember rust is lighter than carbon fibre ) What lump is going back in?
gingergman
yeah the screen is the worst ive ever seen, seen em go a bit milky at the bottom but not like mine lol, looked awfull on the car. i never really noticed the lights before, and the lense is falling out! ah, the dreaded cvh turbo, spec depends totally on the doner car
MarineIguana
Ah that engine they are a dream to work with if your car is in an electrical state of newishness. "Trust me I'm an expert!" :D
gingergman
got back ache today now, my mate popped round just to drop off a leaver bar so i can help seperate the box from the block, and we ended up dropping the engine kinda out and then lifting it out by hand, bit hard with not much to grab hold of, but we lifted it out nether the less nice oil spill aswell lol. still cant get the fooking rad out will just have to take rest out of the bay and give it a good clean up so its ready for paint. enough said so few pics, not very interesting i know

gingergman
need to get a move on with my cabriolet i wont hardly use it when its done but atleast it will be done finished cleaning the bay with jizzer (excellent stuff) keyed with an abrasive pad, currently masking up, but ran out of tape was in two minds wether to go all out and paint it orange or just do it black, id love it orange but ive opted for the black, its much easya to paint, cost shit loads less (st orange is 60quid a ltr without the basecoat and top coat!) if i paint it orange id want it perfect and that aint gunna happen so black it is. the aim is to just make it look clean, tidy and presentable, nothing like before also the hunt is on for a doner car some boring same ole pics also put some kurust on some surface crap! and gave the strut tops a clean, amazing what crap comes off them, gave them a splash of primer then matt black, wanted gloss but only had matt so lacqured them to make gloss clean and tidy thats all im after
