  1. Sounds like your indicator/headlight stalk unit is gone. I guess it would be the XR3i MTX75 starter motor as it bolts onto the gearbox flange.
  2. PMSL, same thing I was thinking, person sure would have their work cut out to bring it back to former glory.
  3. there are a few of them on ebay like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111201679112?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  4. Not too sure on the make up of it as the mk3/4 is slightly different from the mk5/6. If you could replace it, it would be ideal, if not and on a budget, best using a PU sealant.
  5. I put tigerseal PU sealant onto the triangular blocks so no water seeps back. Vaseline wont do anything.
  6. A rubber grommet with the other ECU wire, or a hole near the ford amp unit.
  7. No that is not it, it is normally on the rear of the block
  8. IIRC the engine number is on the engine itself. it isn't on the VIN
  9. The code you say is the engine code is the last digits of the chassis number
  10. Thought I would do a how to with pics on changing the bulb & battery on torch key. Push the Ford logo on the key to release the battery/torch compartment. Use the flat screwdriver or your nails to prize it apart in half Get your battery and bulb ready, trying not to touch the battery leaving fingerprints Give the contacts and bulb holder and body a clean Once clean, install the bottom copper contact Then install the spring, make sure its under the lug on the key Install the upper copper contact which touches the base of the bulb Install the new bulb Place the new battery under the button holder then rest it on the spring place the cover over and push it into place, fitting squarely Test the light for operation, if it is on permanently, reopen and twist the spring the reinsert Fit back into the main key body and test, JOB DONE!
  11. Just in case anyone wanted to replace their Escort mk5/6 or Orion mk3 cigarette lighter bulb and was wondering what it is. It is T5 W2X4.6D 12volt 1.2W
  12. Just been looking at my keyfob and thought I would change it as I never had it working since I got the car in 2006. So doing my research on google and ebay have found the following results. If you want the whole insert with bulb and battery included you can get it at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Key-Fob-Torch-KA-Focus-Fiesta-Escort-Mondeo-Puma-Sierra-Granada-Genuine-/291079644597?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43c5b2e5b5 This costs £7.25 plus £1.25 postage and is genuine Ford However if you want the battery it is Varta V625U, Maxell MR9, (Lumos, IEC, JIS = LR9), Rayovac R625, Duracell PX625A, Energizer EPX625G It is 1.5volts and 16.0mm wide and 6.2mm height On ebay battery is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alkaline-Coin-Battery-LR9-Blister-of-1-Piece-New-/161213840451?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item258917fc43 The bulb is 92GG-13464-AA, 1.5V 0.135W On ebay, nearest bulb seen is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-ASTRA-MK3-F-KEY-FOB-TORCH-BULB-LAMP-NEW-GENUINE-/160973989752?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item257acc2778
  13. loads of things, it could be, vacuum leak, idle speed control valve, lambda sensors.
  14. At the top right corner. If you look onto the grey section you would see it.
  15. They do fit, only thing you need though is for the last 3 letters to match up. At the moment I am running a mk5 fusebox in my mk5b.
  16. An additional measure to stop leaks I have done recently as I ended up getting more water in with this recent heavy rain. Although these measure I have done posted below have cured it. 1. Was to use a PU polyuthrane sealant like Tiger Seal, to seal the triangular rubber blocks as the stormsure on this had wear away. 2. I then sprayed the roof with Scotch Gard, heavy duty water repellent for outdoor fabrics. 3. I then used some materials to make a slight cover over the gap from the roof material to stop water flowing down into the roof frame.

  18. Also check the resistance out on the crankshaft position sensor. Next other sus is the lambda sensor. Check resistance of it also.

    Mail a copy of what?
  21. I also recommened STEEL SEAL, it may be pricey at near £30, but certainly does the job for warped heads, which I have used.
  22. Any pics, then it may be easier to help? Rev counter is controlled by the EDIS unit, normally attached to the inner wing.
  23. As above, check on ebay for some of the breakers
  24. What is the condition of the crankshaft position sensor, also the ht leads/spark plugs
  25. I have had this over the years. It was the (starter jumper lead) as Ford calls it. The wire that goes between your starter motor to your alternator. It is breaking down internally and shorting out. You could even do a wiggle test with the engine running and you would see it change brightness if you get someone to look at the dashboard battery light whilst doing it.
