Hi all!! Just wondering if anyone knows what is acceptable mileage wise on a turbo head gasket. I've done around 40k since the last one but now it's gone again. Is this about right?
-
I've never found any numbers on mine that can prove it's an se. Although there is a metal bar code sort of thing on the underneath of the cross member.

Matisse blue? My colour box only goes back to 92 so might be wrong.

Oh dear

Just looking at the pics of the 5.5k one. It appears to have had the abs removed. There should be two plastic pipes coming off the fluid reservoir. Wouldn't bother me but thought id mention it.

The one in derby says insurance category c as well!!

Ooh I saw that on ebay I think. Looks lovely on the pictures

Sounds like the heater matrix is blocked up. Take the two pipes off and attach the garden hose and flush it through.

Hi all I was wondering if anyone knows if the end of the sensor should have a hole in it? Took it out just and the end seems melted?

Fuel Pump Relay Help Please
Stephen Bearded Minky Hill replied to Wastelander's topic in Discussion & Chat
Does the pump prime when you turn the ignition on or is it completely dead? -
It's not that bad I've done 2 one mine with a bit of help from a mate. I used evo stick contact adhesive and a staple gun. Only thing I will say is don't rush take as long as it takes and don't scrimp on the staple gun get a good heavy duty one as the rubber round the rear screen is hard. An air powered or electric staple gun would be best.

Fuel Pump Relay Help Please
Stephen Bearded Minky Hill replied to Wastelander's topic in Discussion & Chat
The fuel relay is yellow on efi. When you turn on the ignition can you hear the pump prime? If not there should be a fuel cut out switch in the boot under the spare wheel. That could have tripped also the wireing to the cut out switch can get corroded so give that a look mate -
Xr2i and fiesta turbo ones are the same as well

By the sounds of it you don't need the whole pump set up. Only the pump itself. This can be removed and an aftermarket or secondhand pump from a mk5 or 6 fitted in place.
-
Who has said that the pump is the problem? The symptoms you describe don't sound like a pump problem to me. Have you taken the fuel pipe off the regulator to see if there is any pressure? Mines a 90 on a "g". And it's turbo'd now with the same pump I described previously. Don't want you to end up breaking it if it can be mended.

I've had numerous problems with my pump. If its the seals in the flexible thing between the pump and the metal pipe get rid of it and put a piece of fuel hose in place. I did this and it's fine. I also had the black box pop on the underneath of the metal plate. I disconnected it and soldered and heat shrunk the wires to the pump wires. Again it's fine lol

I've got a chip plugged into my ecu, it came loose once and was just hanging out. That caused it to die and pop and bang when it was running. If not like Ian said, plugs, leads, coil pack, wrong fuel. Check around the fuel rail for some small vacuum hoses. Then check the timing marks for piece of mind.

New Turbo Noise.
Stephen Bearded Minky Hill replied to Stephen Bearded Minky Hill's topic in Engine Problems
All sorted. It was definitely the turbo mate. Had no boost at all. I took it back off checked for any rubbing but couldn't see anything so reassembled it making sure I tightened the bolts evenly and now no more noise and boosting like a treat.
