Prices Of 80's Fords!

It seems I bought my cabriolet just in time before prices went up. The prices for tin tops have gone through the roof and XR3i's are fetching upwards of £8k restored, I could have bought an RS1600i for £7k 2 years ago but now they are fetching £12-14k!!

I was going to sell my MK3 cab but it seems the only way now to enjoy the closest thing to an XR3i on a normal persons budget.........

The thing is when you look at the prices of the mk1 and mk2 escorts

there all making good money now . even for a shell . it wont be long and all the time there being broken for spares / parts the prices are going to go up in value for original unmolested cabriolets

The escort cabriolet had so many different special editions there becoming hard to find now so when they do come up there not around long

well worth keeping hold of :banana_dance:

I hope the cabriolets never become too valuable, just makes them more attractive to thieves. I'm not bothered if mines worth 1k or 10k.

Just sold a more door mk4 for 1250 so prices are definitely on the rise.

Yea fair point stu,a lot of classic cars are being nicked and broken because the parts are worth a lot of money and not really traceable.

It is a shame you cant utilise your car for the purposes of enjoyment, you become a slave to it, Some idiot will always see a way to make money, especially with prices so high on flea bay, or else jealous people vandalise them. I had a group of kids who because it had the roof down threw cola on the seats. This is the worst thing they could have done, The Phosphoric acid attack the foam. Obviously chemistry is being taught for destructive means. What I couldn't understand they attacked my Ford, when there are 4 cars on my road, worth £50K, all open top! The worst thing is the parts are no longer available.
