They will prob send some stolen vehicle detectives out to look at the car first but it should be ok. They will then report back to DVLA who will then send out their own boff, after that they should change the details for you as long as everything else on the car matches up ok. I had that happen to me years ago when I bought an E reg 1.6 mk4 ghia cab, when I went to insure it, it was coming back at an escort popular lmao, apparently it had been on a private plate for years and the owner transferred it before selling the cabby. The DVLA cocked up and issued the wrong number plate back to the cab, and they couldn't give it back its proper number plate because they had already given that out to someone else, DVLA wanted to then Q plate it even though it was their cock up, I stood my ground and they gave in, and the simple remedy was to correct the details from a popular to the ghia cab, what a farse but at least I could then insure it

Problem is mate, if anything happens to your car and when the insurer does its checks, they will be expecting to see a saloon rather than a cabby and your insurance may be deemed null and void. When the cops checked out my cabby they never looked at the engine they were more interested in the chassis number on the plate under the bonnet and if it was still on the floor next to the seat.

Might be worth correcting the V5C for your car and send it back to the DVLA and see what comes of it, hopefully they will send you a new correct V5C, or phone them first and see what they have to say.

Tbh that's probably the best thing to do as you might be opening a tin of worms with the DVLA, they are not well known as problem solvers, better known as problem makers, and the info on your V5C is more than probably due to an error at the DVLA in the first place lol.

Yes mate, still got it and no intentions of selling it lol. Only thing that has changed on it since you last saw it, is it has a bit more rust now, otherwise its still running fine. How are things with yours ?
