Hi Allblue

we picked this up about a year ago, needing a bit of work, new bottom arm, new clutch, and a darn good service. Got told when we brought it the roof didn't work, but after a bit of playing around soon got that sorted.

Looking around these Yellow one's are getting a little rare, so planning on keeping hold of her for a whole, still turns heads....lol

i notice you have the spot lights in the front - has the bumper been changed? I'm new on here and a recent owner (via my son) of a '98 Calypso, but we've noticed it's a KARMANN mod and has the Ghia front and back ends and also a strut under the bonnet. Not sure if any engine mods been done, the guy who sold it knew very little about it. I'll post some pics on a new thread soon.

All cabrios were built by Karmann.

Ford eventually allowed Karmann to attach their badge to be fitted to later cabrios.

Calypso cabs would not have front fogged bumpers as standard, but they were an optional extra.

Strut brace in engine bay were standard on all cabs built from early1997.

Very unlikely there would bemany if any engine mods, as this 1.6 engine does not repsond easily to tuning for more power.

Most people drop in something like a 2.0 zetec instead.
