Basilbear Posted June 3, 2011 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Well I have searched for a new camp site this year as quite a few members didn't think much of the one last year or the year before. So I have found the following called The New Rookery Farm. They only normally open up for the big Silverstone events, however they said if we get enough members (10+) wanting to camp that they will open up for us. It is £12.50 per adult and £5 per child (10years and under) per night. It sounds a lot better than the others we have stayed at and is close the the Silverstone circuit. http://www.grandprix-camping.co.uk/ Let me know what you all think and if your interested in camping then add you name to the post. Basilbear Posted June 5, 2011 Author Share Posted June 5, 2011 Well its upto everyone.....I don't mind either! ha!....So the choices are The Rookery where we can probably be by ourselves.....or Whittlebury....where we will probably be on a hill, and I know some people didn't like the showers,etc.....or Hamilton Fields.....which really was just a field! ha! Henwood Farm is literally across the road... Is the new site you're on about really that close? I have five people coming with me, and only 5 seats in my car so need to make two trips to Silverstone in the morning... However, it'd be good to camp with you lot again! Matt, When I spoke to the New Rookery camp site they said they were oppostie Hamilton Fields so that may be the new name they are trading under! ha! Did you look at their web site and see if its one of the same? If we all camp together someone can come with me to save you doing 2 trips if that helps. Let me know if you definitely want to camp and if your qty is going to be 6 altogether and then I can ring them and book it all up. So far I believe we have the following members who are definitely camping and it seems we will try camping at the New Rookery then, unless anyone has serious objections? I will tell them there will be a minimum of 10 campers so I will then let you know what they want us to do to book an pay. If I can persuade the missus to buy the tickets, I'm going up on the morning so can always detour and collect some people (if I keep the back seats in) if you get stuck mate. First time going and it's a fairly important to me question, but anyone know if there are any speed bumps / humps on route to ford fair or is there a clear route... It's a racetrack, so the roads have probably been designed with that in mind... Can't remember any particular speed bumps at all... Don't go to the Trentham show then or Sporting Escorts as those have really nasty speed humps! ha! You can always meet us all at the camp site and then we can all go in convoy to the show! ha!
