Guest John
well shes running sort of.  got no ignition lights on turn of the key but rear dash lights , indicators on dash, headlights on dash work etc. when we got her running battery light came on so alternator is suspect poss new bush pack if u can still get them.  on starting she just to says fires but is missing that finak kick to start needs 3 or 4 trys then seems to flood leave it 5 mins try again it fires 1st go but if you press accelarator to quickly it cuts out.   sounds tappety but its never been started since 2006 & was last on the road 2002 so its gonna need some tlc on the engine but she runs gonna buy a new battery & bush pack for next week end think that will help a great deal.  on taking the alarm out there was a genuine ford relay fitted in the wiring not 100% sure if this needs to be fitted back in under the dash as there is space for it, it is a green relay holder any ideas wot this is for guys?  also found out some 1 has cut the wiring for the heated front screen so need to sort that as well.  heres the video of the 1st attempt at starting    heres today after we had got her running a bit better   shes getting there

Guest John
well another day ready for the paint shop proper.     the floor is amasing   found a small hole on drivers door needed welding.   but found out why there was no petrol brand new pump been in garage 3 yrs, the casing has a hole in it so its just pumping it straight out aswell as up to engine. to late to send back so gotte purchase another but explains why 1 gallon didn't go far.  its sounding really sweet now hardly any rattles.  freed up all the brakes wheel cylinders etc. all pads n shoes are like new so no need to spend there may have to change the flexis but not cos of the rubber the metal ends are a little jagged n rusted.  but another 12 hrs down n she is ready it will get started on monday he needs it out of the body shop by ffeb because he just won a contract to spray x 6 £40,000 kit cars.  cant wait to see her if he does that type of stuff aswell.  need a beer or

Guest John
well got a call from the body shop today i have no worries about how this paint job will turn out. Â he had nearly got the arch fully blended in then noticed a high spot only slightly tho so on doing his thing tapping it in he noticed the arch flexing. if he had just finished the catty n sprayed it it would have cracked. Â so i have been down hes taken all the catty out & he is going to finish the arch "properly". Â As he said he could have just painted it would have lasted a yr or so but he's excited about doing this car aswell. Â still should have some paint on by the end of the week but makes me think im gonna be getting not a good job but a bloody fantastic job. Guest John
well its been in the body shop for a while heres the story so far  had a problem with the rear arch so hes taken all katti out re welded then re katti nearly ready for painting.  Last thus got a call off my mate " which body shop ur car in? not an illusion is it?" yes why ?" i replied its on fire there are loads of fire engines there.  seems they were working on a mk6 welding a arch on. finished for the day a spark was smoldering away for 2 hrs.  result mk6 escort written off clio written off alfa romeo road/hill climb car written off vw mini bus/taxu £20,000 worth written off  mk4 escort xr3i cab as off 29/02/2012 1.30pm NOT WRITTEN OFF  2.30 pm COULD BE WRITTEN OFF because of smoke damage to dash, visors, steering wheel, roof rubber top bit, & seat even tho they ahve been told its a spare.  THE LIST OF PARTS TO REPLACE THE ABOVE HAVE COME IN AT £350 this could write the car off before she's finished. They had surgested on giving me £1000 settlement on her but i would not be able to get her back she would be crushed:(   I have supplied the body shop to give to insurance some prices for buying a like for like model ranging from £1700 - £2800 off internet but also to advise them on my agreed value "all white" if they need to know its true value to me.  I have sourced dash, visors, steering wheel for £60 locally which may make the difference in her surving.  Can anyone help with a decent roof rubber cheap or free to help save her the item has to be purchased or in hand before they can give the go ahead to carry on working on her if she's saved.        fingers crossed i know more tomorrow but i need the roof bar rubber  ABSOLUTLEY GUTTED
