  1. Water pump is not driven by the cambelt on this engine, so you could chance not replacing it if its behaving itself, but if you ever did have to replace the pump then the labour is gonna be the same again due to its location. A local garage should be able to do the cambelt for a lot less. Whereabouts are you in the uk?
  2. I want a mint unscratched drivers window but the transportation will be a pain in the butt.
  3. I wouldn't waste your money.
  4. Depends what size wheels you are running? Escort/sierra cosworth 4x4 front calipers and 2wd cossie 283mm discs go on quite easily and fit under 15's or you can use mk3 mondeo calipers and st170 discs if you have 16"+ wheels.
  5. 1.8 zetec is reasonably easy if you get the right ecu and loom. Escort turbo is a bit more complicated as you could go mfi or efi in various ways.
  6. Thinking of having a bumper like this, what do you think peeps?
  7. Green mk3 looks the absolute dogs b%ll%cks
  8. They are gonna do the rear ones soon, the chap on the stall last week was telling me.
  9. ebay uk for a vent I reckon, the trims you mention you need a company called east kent car trims, I've just purchased the door trims myself.
  10. I think mc rallying used to make the bumper, the side bits look like a illusion kit from what I can see of it.
  11. Where in blackpool has had a look at it?
  12. BeJeez thats a spoiler and a half. Keep us updated Ian.
  13. Yeah the Rs front anti roll bar is better than a standard cabrio/mk/xr3i set up. The Rs item offers additional adjustability.
  14. I'm planning on camping but I will be with a group from facebook called retrobeutes, with the cabby on display with Passionford on the sunday.
  15. Bushes and shockers have to be absolutely cream crackered to fail the mot. A set of poly bushes or even decent new bushes will help, I see mixed reviews for flo flex poly bushes, they are a good price for a full car set though. If you can get a s1 escort rs rurbo or escort RS1600i front anti roll bar set up these can really improve the handling. A good tip is to not go too mad with lowering, my cab was dropped about 60mm, I've since fitted -35mm springs which are a lot better ride quaility.
  16. Cheers, its been along expensive and often stressfull journey.
  17. I've done a fair few jobs to the car and have a few more to do before classic ford next weekend. Raised the suspension by 25mm, drives much better, modded the waterpump pulley bolts as they were catching the inner wing when cornering hard. Started getting into detailing so I'm in the process of getting it really clean and shiny. I destroyed a gearbox last year, turned out the diff was no good anyway. I've got a set of toyo r1r tyres to fit at weekend, few bits of wiring to tidy and I've now got a timing belt cover fitted.
  18. Is it a efi xr3i? When you say struggling to start do you mean the engine is turning over slowly or is it turning over at a decent speed but just not starting?

fueling may need tweaking or perhaps a air leak or dodgy sensor, tbh its that long since I've worked on a mfi car I can't remember the full ins and outs of tuning them.
  20. Nice picture's, red cab with the big wheels looks a good example.
  21. If your new battery is ok I would be looking at the main live and earth leads and their connections, starter motor could also be past its best. When you say heater so you mean the blower is not working or the heater produces no heat? Regarding the hood, as Ollie says, does it work with key on first click?
  22. Have you got a build thread for the car, would be great to have a look through it. Shame about the situation with the tuners you used, a name as good as their's I wouldn't have expected such issues.
