  1. Looks like you have done a cracking job of the underside, is it all running the zt? what spec is it?
  2. The show was absolutely rammed with fords of all ages last year, it was a great day, this year my escort will be going, should be 25 this year give or take a few months.
  3. If its a open mouth bumper you want something like a grs intercooler that fills the gap completely, I have a airtec single pass intercooler on mine, it would look stupid on a full open mouth as it doesn't sit symmetrically.
  4. Jano at oddkidd creations supplys all the parts, You use a rs2000 gearbox, custom mountings, custon driveshafts, modified linkage, inner wing needs cutting and welding, possibly a few other little bits, not sure on flywheel and clutch tbh. I think his kit is based on using a mk3 anti roll bar set up too (s1 or rsi type)
  5. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bolle-Contour-Clear-Lens-Safety-glasses-CONTPSI-/280651477861?pt=UK_BOI_ProtectiveGear_RL&hash=item415821b365 Don't even know you've got them on.
  6. Safety goggles dude, I wear them all day at work now after having metal removed from my eye for the 2nd time in as many years, this time though I've had to go back to the hospital about 5 times and I gotta go again next week.
  7. That was a decent crack in the block dude! You've got the bottom brake spring on your shoes backwards, prob won't make a difference though.
  8. A couple of precise swift blows with a hammer to the rear of the back plate should remove it.
  9. Are you gonna be doing the work yourself?
  10. Have you got a budget in mind and a target bhp?
  11. Think your gonna struggle, its not the 90's anymore where there are loads on the roads.
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Escort-Mk3-Mk4-1-8-Diesel-Engine-Gearbox-Radiator-Etc-/271297712360?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f2a9a90e8 Amongst a few engines on ebay alone. Ideally you want one that has the simple fuel pump just requiring a switched live to the stop solenoid.
  13. I've got one that colour, as you say its not a common colour. What model is yours down as on the log book?
  14. The guide I followed had a parts list, somebody has calculated the comp ratio using the st170 bottom end, normal 2.0 zetec head and a specific head gasket. It drops the comp ratio nicely. So that no decomp plate is required.
  15. Think I'm gonna need to upgrade the gearbox next or give in and admit defeat.
  16. you would need driveshafts and linkage modding too. I just wondered if you had already fitted the mtx box with your engine,
  17. Looks good, what gearbox are you running?
  18. be sure to cover the oil returns at the rear of the head incase you drop the collets, they can end up dropping into the sump.
  19. You could try a oil and filter change, failing that a new cam and lifters should cure it.
  20. Its mapped now, results are superb, it goes like a rocket, estimated 250-260bhp, rolling rd to confirm. Running just over a bar of boost, its awesome, plant it in 5th at 70mph and it still pulls you back in your seat, on a private rd of course. We tried 18psi of boost but the clutch was reluctant to hold, so I backed it off, more power would need a clutch that costs near £400, it would be heavy too, so it will have to do as is. Bad point of the day is it feels like the offside outer cv joint is seizing/dying, stiff to turn to the right and knock/clunk when taking up drive. So I've ordered a couple of replacements, might as well change the pair.
  21. Hey peeps, is anybody on the forum using apex lowered springs, 30mm drop. If so what do you think of them and what is the ride like? My cab is sitting a bit lower with the zetec in so I plan to change from my G-max springs which I think are a 6mm drop.
  22. Cheers bud. Its booked in for mapping on thursday.
