  1. When the cog was changed, was the system bled with oil properly? Could be a bit of air in the system perhaps?
  2. Good luck finishing your project. I see a lot of dedication on your part has gone into it so far, well done.
  3. Well what can I say, simply stunning. Can't wait to see it at the car shows.
  4. A nice array of cabs there Good news the weather held out.
  5. Hey Stumpy, hope you are well Hopefully, car has not been driven for 4 years. Will also have to MOT her. May be touch and go for Classic Ford, but she will definatley be ready for Ford Fair Would also like to show Tango as well, but not both together!
  6. Brought ticket today Now should I bring down Tori (mk4 cab) or Tango (mk6 cab)?
  7. Lovley Those wheels and white bodywork are a perfect combo.
  8. Looking forward to seeing Skippy at forthcoming car shows

    Me Mk 6

Nice car, Look forward to seeing the cossie kit fitted. Glad those stickers are coming off!
  10. You have a mismatch of parts there. In summary, there were three variations of the EFI airbox design. The airbox you currently have on your car is for cars where the Idle Speed Control valve (ISCV - silver cylinder shaped device with either 1 or 2 hoses coming off it) is directly attached to the inlet manifold (the silver aluminum bit with the 'EFI' logo on). Like previously mentioned, there does not seem to be an ISCV attached to your car. Can you see one anywhere in the engine bay? The hose you originally talk about, attaches to the ISCV at the disconnected end. Another hose should then run from the ISCV direct to the airbox. Hope this helps.
  11. Looking good. Nice to see another MK6 cabriolet.
  12. Hiya I like your cab - colour, bodykit, condition and standard orange indicators too! Nice to hear skippy started first time, how long was she hibernating for? I going to be waking mine up too later this month when the weather warms up a little. She has not been driven for almost four years. Have to see how it goes
  13. Is it too much too pay? Yes Go to your VW Dealer and ask for some Hydraulic fluid G004 000. 500ml = £7. This is the fluid recommended by VW for use in its cabriolet pumps.
  14. For cabs a 70 amp is fitted as standard, so that 80 amp is more than ample. However, that ebay one is far too expensive. More suited for fussy concours peeps who want that Bosch original look when restoring cars. But any motor factors should be able to source a 70amp suitable for the Mk4 Escort, for much cheaper than £130.
  15. Would NOT recommend using brake fluid,if anyone is attempting this. It may work, but brake fluid is corrosive unlike the mineral oil that the pump actually requires. Not sure what damage this could cause to the internal plastic componments of the system over time. Also if the stuff leaks it will eat away your paint. Not too mention potential hazards with regards to future changes to the hydraulic system, as brake fluid is highly toxic. Pop down to your VW or Ford dealer and ask for the correct fluid for the pump, should set you back no more than a tenner.
  16. Nice one, and in Orange Bronze too Good luck with your project
  17. Very nice, can't beat an Imperial Blue cab, especially with the RS kit. You say you are replacing the grill, does it have an RS one?

    My New Rs

Wow, bargin! Looks really nice too.
  19. Hiya Assuming it is your fusebox check out my Mk6 fusebox post in the General Discussion. Does any of your other elec items work? Such as headlights, indicators, heaters? With fuseboxes usually these go first and then eventually the car fails to start.
  20. I really like this thread That car is in a pretty bad way rust wise, but the work you are putting into that cab is top dollar. Its nice to see things starting to take shape.
  21. Looks really good, a new hood makes all the difference. Nice set of cars too
  22. Hiy Charzly Thanks for the comments, the project actually finished last year but I've been a bit lazy finalising it. I'll get some new pics soon of Tori after a good wash and polish, which should be sometime soon.
  23. Hey, very nice tidy MK6. They do look good in imperial blue.
