I would feel a right prat next to all the gorgeous cabbies on here .. with gorgeous paint jobs.. turbo engines and meaty exhausts!!.. Trying week by week to restore her with genuine , original parts ...lots of TLC.. and a sympathetic credit card company,,!! Was well chuffed at the weekend .. after searching and failing to find the original Ford stereo for the car ( that worked).. I emailed a bloke breaking a Mk 4 and was advertising engine and wheels etc.. asked on the off chance it he had a working original stereo... BINGO !!! Let me have it for £20 .. Result !!! Spent money at the weekend getting bits and bobs done.. a mechanic recommended to me.. an ex AA guy.. He sorted overheating problem.. as fan was not cutting in when it should... and seems to have sorted small oil leak ..by replacing the distributor unit.. and a few other jobs.... But since being done.. although running better.. and idling better... she is now a pig to start.. even when warm.. and noticed blue smoke this morning.. (oil??).. not on every start though... He was supposed to coming back today.. as I had kittens when saw blue smoke....wasn't there before.. but because of weather has postponed.. Any advice gratefully received....
