Just thought i would pop a few pics up to get other peoples thoughts on them as i have been threatening to make some for a while now then finally got round to it.

I made 2 15" mondeo steels into 8" wide rims from 6" wide rims with a 2" band

then once i got them out the way i pushed the envelope with another 2 rims and banded them up too 9"!!!!

as fitted with a 175-55-15 tire.

looks mental on the car........

but prefer the 8" rim with the 195-45-15 tire as its more subtle.

how the hell did u get them 9" rim's 2 seal??????

i dont really like the tyre's stretched on the rim, especially the 9" rim, if u could get a tyre on there that's not as stretched then u'd pull it off, i think if u can get wider tyre's then & a pic people myt b a bit more warmer 2 it!!!! how did they balance up? i take it the offset has changed a bit???

well done m8, gd wrk

I'm not convinced by the 9" rim as it looks good on other motors on the net but once it was fitted i just did not like it i much prefer the 8" rim with the 195 45 15.

believe it or not the 9" rim sealed no bother went on without daft hairspray antics too!!!

As for balancing up, the banded part of the rim is as good as it was before it was cut off as i use jigs for the cutting of the wheel aswell as the welding of the band too, so run out is minimal as everything is held true at all times max run out was 1mm after welding took place so the weights fitted were no more than what would have been if the rim as a std rim and tire set-up.

not bad mate, plenty of doller in it, was that without tyres i take it?

Yes, no tyres just a set of 15" rims made to 8" and 9" no tyres painted black and no blending out of the joint lines.
