  1. Not been to a show in years, to busy with work n family stuff you never I may pop up one day.
  2. Hey up Ollie, not got the Ghia anymore had it pinched from work, in the middle of tidying up a pop 5 door. As for the cab new it was wrong from the start but it's better to make sure before commenting these days.
  3. OK simple one this. Did ford ever produce an all grey SE?. Some is claiming to have one of only 25 ever built, featuring R's kit, leather interior and rs 1600i running gear. Pretty sure it's just a dealer special but seems adamant it's a genuine factory car.
  4. Sure I've got a chrome set in the garage, I'll have a look
  5. £15 fines by me.... If your about saturday afternoon i'll swing down after work.. your just off junction 14 iirc..
  6. Still got the front roll antil bar and arms bud?
  7. price for the front recaros, front and rear bumpers. chrome strut tops please. also is the suspension lowered? if so is it a proper setup or chopped springs?
  8. What would be the cause of oil getting into the spark plugs ona 1600 zetec? as soon as uoi pull the plugs out oil is filling the plug holes. The car was running fine, then lost temp and died.. It spins over (all be it a bit quick) and is stuck
  9. would you sell the bootlid of the tin top buddy??
  10. As an optional extra they were also fitted with the 14inch dogleg alloysm the same as the xr3i, They came with a 14inch steel rim as standard, 13inch was only on the lesser engine models.1.1 to 1.3
  11. I Know when I went up the dealer still had the £795 board in the back.. shame another gear bites the dust but hey ho
  12. was this the one for sale in lutterworth, if so the front end is terminal rottern as viewed it,
  13. the old 1 is a uk spec. basic impact 1.. once it's fitted try running a blade round the over lapping foam to trim it off
  14. The new 1 is an improved bumper form europe inorder to meet the stronger crash safety regs
  15. if it's looked after it'll last for years, proberbly worth considering adding a fuel additive to help prevent ethanol damage, due to new petrol mixes, oil n filter service around 5/6k and just keep an eye on the carb inline fuel filters.
  16. the ignition module suffers from contamination due to it's postion on the underneath.. Try cleaning your first with some carb cleaner, failing that there around £8/15 for a new 1, or even opt for a whole recon dizzy assembly
  17. tbh it doesn't sound like any real issue, my current 1400 on occasion needs a bit of help,.. when it's up and running drop a shot of redex down the carb see if it blows out any nasties.
  18. the mixture screw is on the back of the carb, iirc its half a turn towards the driversside to richen..
  19. it sounds to me like a weak fuel mixture, the VW carb does suffer from eveporation issues hence having to hold the throttle down when warm, is it still on the standard airbox?
  20. pity your not closer, as i've just sorted a mate's 1400 in his escort, when the cars warm do you need to hold the throttle down or give it a few pumps before it fires?.. If the timming was out it would run like a nail all the time,
  21. Does it turn over slowly or chuck out any black smoke?.. Guess is in clearing the jets it's upset the fuel air mixture..
  22. dont tell me the idle valve wire had fallen off or the valve was stuck open?
  23. The 1600i re appeared in 1988 to over come the horrundous insurance premimums the 3i was commanding, engine and performance they matched and trim wise they where identical thanks to fords optional extra (things like electric windows etc where not standard fit on 3i's from new).. It was souly down to the dealer what the car was registered as as 1600i came in at group 18 and 3i's group 20
  24. Chris

    Its Dead

If you have absolotuly nothing then it points to the battery being at fault.. even with a small charge you should still have dash lights..
