Guest corrie
not trying to shoot you down gav but have you had them tested and checked and been given a british kite mark for safety. cos if you havent then they arent street legal and it leaves you wide open for law suits. also check there arent any patents on them aswell. gingergman
if you put them on your car then its your risk, dont see how gav could get into shit from it. what cars are street legal lol, cos mine never are
Guest corrie
if you put them on your car then its your risk, dont see how gav could get into shit from it. what cars are street legal lol, cos mine never are if an unfortunate accident was to occur then everything would be looked at and scrutinised, just want him to cover his back as he is a friend of mine. wheels go thru strict testing and should not be modified. just say someone put a set on there car and for some reason it failed on a bend and family was in the car and the unfortunate happened then it would be taken away for analysis, what would happen? strict strength and safety testing done on stuff like that. i know if i worked on a customers vehicle and i used substandard parts and they failed i could never live with myself. also they would not be passed on a mot test either. its very important to think of safety at all times and theres no point in cutting corners. if gave has built these well then he should go down the right route and he could have himself a super little business to start up. so go gav make it work buddy and keep them going. Guest gavintwopies
What kind of testing are you refering to NDT testing or DT testing ?? As in many cases even having either sort of test done is much the same as the day you passed your car test!!! all it means is that on that day it/you were good enough on the day to what was the minimum requirements to pass, as other suppliers will provide a copy of the welders certs to prove they are a coded welder it does not however mean that 8am on a monday morning after the said welder has had a weekend on the lash will produce a weld to the same std as he did in or for the test centre........... Look at it this way if you put in for your test again would pass 1st time??? Its not the ideal way of looking at it but sadly its the way the industry works, also they have to provide another sample from time to time to stay coded too, its not just a 1 time deal. p.s. i dont weld after a skin full LOL Edited October 16, 2011 by gavintwopies

Guest Smiler
I have to admit I quite like them and see them as more of a retro cars movement thing than just pure VW. However, thee are a lot of old water cooled VW's in the retro cars movement so can see the association.
