Any body got any views or advice on whether to buy cheapies or go for a dearer "Performance" set ? What do U run ,would you change for dearer or cheaper next time ? Which brand do U recommend? Guest Lee81 Posted April 30, 2011 Share Posted April 30, 2011 I have been down the route of expensive Ht leads and in all honesty its a waste of money. Most are actually worse than the standard ones. On the zetec they will work ok but wont see any gains. Its the older cvh engines where they cause interferance and lose you power. MSD sells HT leads at around £25 and they work as well as needed even on the old cabbys so can't argue with that. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

iansoutham Posted April 30, 2011 Share Posted April 30, 2011 As long as you go for an 8mm or bigger lead you will be fine. Many of the "cheap and nasty" leads in motor factors and the like are 7mm, these will not supress interference and will break down quicker. I use Motorcraft 8mm leads on all my Fords and they work, even when pressure washing the engine bay with the engine running, no issues. Guest Rustler Posted May 6, 2011 Share Posted May 6, 2011 Have just ordered a set of 8mm leads from "BURTON POWER", not the cheapest ,but postage to France was very reasonable, in fact the same price as a "BOSCH" set.........Will advise on performance later....
