Guest samrscab
Looking good but i would deffo invest in a vernier pulley as the blocks are about 4mm taller than the cvh and this will knock your cam timing out by 1/2 a tooth, have you modded the engine mount yet? Also why not have a shot of running it on an edis4 & megajolt instead of a std dizzy that way when you get bored you can then drop a 2.0 zetec in. if you wanna keep it looking neat fit a 1.8 16v clio oilfilter there quite small and will give you loads of clearance. Also watchout for the oilfiler coming loose on the engine as its happended a few times to us cured it with a jubilee clip and a small length of an old arcwelding rod. hi thanks for comment..... i am looking into getting cash together for the pully, and yes mount got modified today so thats all good. and also was going to go down the route of mega jolt but have not got no more cash at min lol but defo will be doing that in the future. as for the oil filter you can get a long one or short one for that engine so i got 2 small ones (one for the first 2 days of running to catch any crap we couldnt get out, then change for the 2nd one) and do you mean the filler cap on the rocker cover?? if so i know what you mean lol cheers mate speak soon. Guest gavintwopies
No, i was ment to say oil filter not filer the clio ones are a about 5cm long about 1/2 the length of a cvh one but with the roughness of the engine we have seen the filters vibrate loose even cvh ones, So wrap a big jubilee clip round it and clamp a 3mm or so rod to the filter and have it touching the edge of the back of the oilpump thus unable to vibrate loose. As for megajolt you dont need it straight away as the car will run on the edis4 with a static 10deg btdc till you get it. Guest benny
sorry for my stupidity but whats megajolt and whats the benifts over the standard dizzy, ive got a 2.1 zvh with a fast road cam, and its a bit dissapointing, only 150 bhp with 101 lb torque, my pug has a 1.9 135 bhp engine with no cam and has 150 lb of torque! The main benefit of megajolt is you are swapping to a waste spark system as fitted to all fords from 1990 onward 1st off you get a stronger spark but the best of it is you can map up the spark advance yourself via a laptop rather than rely on vacuum advance or very old electonic dizzy systems which again have mechanical failings such as dizzy caps and rota arms. Take a look on youtube for megajolt or take a look on one of the many sites catering for it such as: http://www.autosportlabs.com/megajolte-p-41.html?amp%3Bcurrency=GBP¤cy=GBP 150bhp and 101 lb/ft seems well low for such a torquey engine whats your engine set-up??? turbo n/a the 1st zvh i ever did came out at 175bhp 201 lb/ft out of a 1.8.... Guest Lee81
Lookiing good m8. Think about fitting a oil separtor for breathing though. The CVH rocker cover is poorly baffled. You likly to get a lot of oil pumping out through that breather filter.

Guest samrscab
thanks for the replies everyone..... and mark i wouldnt be to jealous haha the amount of stress its caused, i have just brought a new accellerator cable for twin 40 webbers to put on instead of trying to modify the origanal cable. and it couldnt have been done without the help and know how of my mate. but with all the teething problems and other little probs i have been close to putting her on ebay a few times!! i shall keep the thread up to date whenever anything changes, and mark yes i shall get a video on as soon as she is all running nice and is tuned up. once she been run in a little bit i will try to get the money together to put her on the rolling road would be interesting to see what it comes out at just being: 1.8 bottom end 1.6 head r1 carbs keep you all posted. thanks again. Guest samrscab
This must be up and running now? yes haha been running the past few days now, need the carbs tuning, and few other niggly things doing but as cash is a problem at the min i have not been able to do much thats why the thread has not been updated. but yes she is running and drivable, i have to do nearside cv joint tomorow, and hopefully get the back plate for the pipercross filter back so that can go on. just everytime i replace something at the min something else goes wrong but the car was very neglected before i got her so it is time to start making her better. i will keep you all updated whenever i can. cheers
