Guest avul Posted January 5, 2011 Share Posted January 5, 2011 Good evening all! hope u'v all ad a good day? thought i'd let ya all know as i'v ad alot of help frm the forum & thanx 2 a few people on here as bin trying 2 find out just how many mk3 1.3 cabs their really r left out there??? made a fone call 2 DVLA 2day & they put me thro 2 another department, i asked how many mk3 cabs there were left as there gettin pretty rare, the guy asked 4 my reg & he'ed call me bak. & 4 a nice chance after about an hour & a alf he called bak wiv some nunbers! he couldn't tell me engine size's, injection, non injection etc... & all he was able 2 tell me was the model, ie: cabriolet. but left registered, ie: taxed, there r 156 & sorn there r 175... not many now from what he said 'i'm only assuming that' that is the total for cabriolets in the whole range!!! these fig's were taken frm sept 2010. i also had a look at the pics that were put on the site frm fordfair 09 & i only counted 8 mk3's & only 3 were A plate's same as mine. i still aven't found out just how many mk3 1.3's there actually out there & i'm not gonna give up, but it is bloody hard wrk if any1 on here knows of a 1.3 or has got 1 i would love 2 know or if any1 knows of how 2 get more info then that would b fantastice kind regards mark, aka avul thats my little baby its just such a same she's not yet on the road, but wen she is i'll def bring her 2 some meets & show her of, long live the escort cabriolet Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

chaz Posted January 5, 2011 Share Posted January 5, 2011 The 1.3 mk3 cab is definetly very rare as only a few hundred were ever build so look after it, as for 156 cabs only left seems to me to be a bit low. Guest avul Posted January 6, 2011 Share Posted January 6, 2011 yes guys thats wat i thought , but thats straight from the horse's mouth & 02079 446386 thats the number DVLA gave me! 156 registered & 175 sorn, sorry but mines 1 of the sorn 1's well 4 now anyway... i'l get some pics of her on soon but she's lookin a bit sorry 4 her self & from my profile pic of her the mk4 bumper's are off aswell now, gonna give her new front wings, inner wings, front slam panel, osr arch & if i can get 1 new rear slam panel. if any1 knows of where i can get the panels from? would appreciate a good supplier. not sure what its like under the carpet, but the spare wheel well is good, no rust in the batt tray, last time i was underneath her she was lookin pretty good 2. just got my wifes new camera 2day so get the pics up soon but still not sure how 2 get them on here!!! is it easy? Guest avul Posted January 7, 2011 Share Posted January 7, 2011 yes james i agree & i'm afraid i also put on a front bumper, but only that!! but mine was on 4 a reason & u'l see why wen i get some pics sorted as some butcher tried a bad repair on the front end after it had a small ding before i got it & that was also the reason for the rear one to! poor little thing. but sshe'l b bak as good as new some day in the near future Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

How many mk3's do you actually see, they are like hens teeth!! Id love it to be more, but am also quite happy to be quite a rare breed!!! :-) Love to know how many standard mk3's are on here??
