Mondo
Seeing as you're all talking about me... As John said, I'm currently looking into retrimming a full Escort interior - I'd probably give the option of the buyer choosing the leather colour and stitching colour, and whether they wanted the normal Recaro badges putting in or having the logo embroidered as has been done on the ivory seat above. And I'll sort out some hi-res pics shortly too!

Mondo
Cheers for those pics. If people wanted something other than the Recaro logo embroidering, that's not a problem. It'll basically be a case of a customer deciding what colour leather they want, what colour stitching and what (if any) embelishment they want adding. Requests such as orange stitching or two tone leather are simple to sort. Big question is: would people want their own seats retrimming or would they prefer to buy a full new set already trimmed...? Guest Lee81
Own seats would be the majority of work especially with the show cars. You'd be able to sell a few trimmed already on ebay though you wont be able to get as much for the work you do on there. I wouldn't go exchange as you'll be getting seats with broken parts that are useless. If People know there going to get the seat they send back they wont send you rubbish ones Another thing is i need my car trimming in cream leather like the first pic and also charcoal colour. Want the whole lot doing i.e. all seats. Door cards. Dash. Roll bar. Also need new carpet to floor. Most of the above work is the same to any mk4 cabby but the floor is custom as i have a combination of mk4 escort and sierra cos floor pans. My front seats are also sierra cos. How much would you charge for this? I can deliver all the parts myself no problem and collect them when done.
Mondo
Lee, When you say your want your interior trimming in cream/charcoal, what sort of split are you after? EG; cream outers, charcoal cushions? And would you be looking to have the carpet supplied by me and the dash trimmed as well? Si.
Guest Lee81
Looking at having the seats in cream. No slit just full cream. The dash and door cards in a charcoal or dark grey colour. Definately want the dash doing as I know thats beyond my ability. Not sure weather to have the cards in cream/charcoal split at the moment looking for ideas still on this. The carpet just needs to be black or dark grey. Not sure how to do this. Possibly make a patten from the old carpet and other bits and then you have a template to make new? Guest Feeble
How hard is this to do..? My mum and dad are amazing at trimming things, I've had door cards done, steering wheels etc, but they've always shied away from seats! Will I be able to convince them that it's not too hard? Mondo
Lee: I'll be honest here and say that I've never tried a dash before. The saving grace with Escorts is that the dash is quite square so I'd be willing to have a bash at that. Not 100% sure on the carpet situation as that's something I've never even considered! Everything else though: hell yeah! Feeble: it's bloody hard work and massively complicated. I'm not surprised they've shied away from trimming seats, mate!! Guest Lee81
Have trimmed a seat before. Came up really well but i found it difficult and very time consuming. I wouldn't have the patience to do it again hence why i want someone to do it for me. I've made my mind up now on most of what i want. The front and rear seats in cream leather as shown with blue piping. The roll bar covering and the dash again in cream leather. Know your probably not sure on the dash 100% but if you could give some idea of the cost of all this work I'm looking to get this done over the winter. Door cards I might have ago at myself if you could supply the same material just let me know the cost per metre. Also had a phone call today from a mag wanting to do a feature on the car. They asked me a few months back when i was at santa pod but never heard anything until now. Told them its not ready yet so want to get this work done ready for early next show season.
