Well its time for an update. I have replaced both outer sills (offside & nearside), replaced the front & rear bumpers which I painted black then a couple of coats of clear lacquer, changed the oil stem seals (just for peace of mind), I then the polish out with a big tub of elbow grease & got polishing. I was very happy with the results. Hope you like the updated pic's.

I've got a lovely mint rear bumper with the RS lower valance fitted to it to go with your side skirts & possibly a front RS lower skirt aswell, if your interested!!!!!!!!!!!

It has got 90,267 miles on the clock & I have ford service history up to 87,649miles. The engine runs sweet, no tappet noises & the gear linkage is still tight. Which is a big bonus.

I thought I had better show my new project. Its had 1 previous owner & has got 90,000 miles on the clock. It is quite a tidy motor thats needs a little TLC to get it back to its prime. It doesn't need alot of work for the MOT, just the outer sills both sides. The wheels are original & I got a all the history, I even got the original bill of sale

Yes you can get the leads from halfords. I personally use bosch HT leads & the only thing you have to do with the spark plugs is to check/adjust the electrode gap. Whereabouts are you?

It sounds to me it is either a plug lead or spark plug breaking down under load or the coil pack is causing a slight misfire under load. Hope this helps

I would get your ignition timing checked. Does your car have a blue cap (Motorcraft) on the distributor or a red one (Bosch). If it has a blue cap, it might be the ignition module on the case of the distributor breaking down under load. When I worked in a ford main dealer in colchester, we changed the distributors over from motorcraft to bosch distributors because of this problem with the ignition modules. Hope this helps

No Mate. I didn't change my master cylinder & it works 100% with the RS Turbo front brakes. While your doing the pipework for the brakes, you could change the front hoses to braided hoses. You will get a firm pedal compared to the standard rubber hoses
