  2. well me and my nephew finished my ice install i have a alpine head unit 4x apline conponant speakers and a kicker sub in the boot here is the pictures of speakers. i'm not sure of what to do next i'm running out of stuff to do.

  4. i belive there's only one way to do things and thats the right way which isn't the cheap way. and then it depends on how cheap you want to do it.
  5. yes mate i've done mine it cost me about £80 for the whole kit including loom from ebay it took about 1 hour to fit and theres a guide on this site.
  6. you need to know alot it's not hard if your into engines etc, lets start by telling us what your going to run injection or carbs also you need to find efi loom and ecu or buy an aftermarket ecu to produce the spark as a zetec has a coil pack. also look at the zetec conversion guide which is in the engine tunning forum. any more questions just ask or pm me or send me your phone number and i'll run through anything you want to know.
  7. hi lee it was quite simple really you need to use the origanal cvh engine mount and modify it the top 2 holes line up you just need bottom 2 moved look on this site it tells you most that you need to know. http://www.zetecinside.com/xr2/index.shtml there's loads of bits and piece's on here but don't hesitate to contact me if you want to know anything. ian
  8. i made it at work fella. so it's custom made but wasn't easy and the powder coating is allready coming off where its cracked so might have to remake and re-enforce this time
  9. i saved this from a garage where it had sat for 2 years after a little work i got it mot'd and it's now my run around.
  10. well just a quick update i've had the inlet manifold powder coated and done my own little bit of art work on it and here is how it looks. i'm not sure whats next but i'll find more to do. and for anyone going to sporting escorts on sunday you'll see it there (my first ever show)
  11. after a little digging around it seams ford made some ecu's with the edis built in does anyone know if the 1.4 mk5s were one of them the ecu is marked as halo
  12. hi people i have been trying to fix my mates 1.4 cvh mk5 with efi and have found i only have spark to 2&3 plugs so i swaped coil packs thinking it was that but there was no difference so going backwards i then thought edis unit but for the life of me can't find it ??? does it have one??? where is it ????? please help
  13. find a local powder coater i had my 4 doglegs blasted and powder coated all for £25 a wheel. i was well chuffed
  14. Well what a weird weekend i've had I took my mk6 for mot on friday and it failed on a coil spring and the brakes. Now the car has been in a garage for two years and the brakes were seized solid when we pulled it out but i thought i'd free'd them up but i know something wasn't quite right when i drove it to mot station. The brake test showed that the front brakes were grabing sharply so that was were the problem was. Great i thought i took it home and striped the front calipers and found them not seized i put them back on and tried to bleed them and for some reason they wouldn't bleed properly. So I thought it must be master cylinder so i striped that down. Everything looked ok and was working so i re-assembled everything, fitted it all back together and bleed it ??? still no good so i thought the master cylinder must be kaput. ....and off to scrapie I went £15 later I was on way home with working master cylinder, fitted it went to bleed everything but still not right. Now I was confused so i started opening conections to try and find the solution and after a little detective work i found the fault was both front flexible hoses, i'm not sure what had happened to them and i had never seen anything like it before both hoses had closed up, there was no sign of swelling they looked perfect but £50 later and 2 new pipes all is working.

    the coil packs are known to break down from time to time you could try that.

  18. thats the same as standard i think and what i've had it set at , i just wasn't sure if it changes once car is lowered.

  20. hi people i have lowered my cab by 40mm and replaced all suspension componts and poly bushed so need tracking reset does anyone know what the tracking figures are ?????? are they the same as standard cab???? i

  22. well people i picked up parts from powdercoaters and what a great job they done. here is the wheel before it went. and here it is done. here is the rocker cover. and fitted. last but not least the strut brace that i made. and fitted. hopefully the next set of pics i have will be the ice install ?? we are getting near to being finished (thank god)
  23. hi fella i've done zetec conversion in mk4 there is a small amount of work to do to engine mount and i uprated gearbox mounts as i kept poping drive shafts out i have used origanal drive shafts but uprated to rs turbo gearbox with lsd. i did use the 2.0 ltr but the 1.8 is a lot less work. and would recomend this as a good upgrade the only thing i'd of done different and still might do is put twin webbers on instead of efi. but remember you will still need some sort of ecu to produce a spark as theres no distributor on a zetec. if you need any advise or just want to chat about it pm me with your phone number and i'll give ya a call.
  24. well people my last post has been closed allthough i had been adding to it as and when things were done. here are the latest photo's. rear end poly bushed and lowered by 30mm new fuel tank door card repair and here is car fully lowered with new side stripes i've got strut brace and new rocker cover coming back from power coaters and also two wheels that i've had done.
