  1. They normally crop up on ebay, although it is usually the regulator and motor all in one sold.

It is always those last two teeth worn out due to the top of the window pressing against the door frame when opening and closing the door. Other newer cars get around this by lowering the window a bit when the door is opened and only goes up around 2 seconds after it is closed.

  2. Ford only part, I'm also after the same seals

Does anybody know where i can order new seals to roof

i'm replacing roof top and like to get new seals to frame (front ones are quite bit shrunken maybe, does not reach to windshield frame seals) hard to explain..

    i think i need parts:

    1667470

    1667471

    1667030

    1667032

    and possibly 1666845

    and 1666846

these ones i dont even found on my car...

    thanx in advance

  3. I seen this Escort cabriolet RS2000 conversion on ebay, the person lists it as 1 in only 3. Sounds a bit laughable as none in the UK were sold with RS2000 engine AFAIK.

However there have been around 5 conversions that I know of including mine. Strange in all the pics he doesn't even show a pic of the engine bay.

He is selling it for £1450

  4. Did you test it out with a voltmeter first? It could well be the switch

Quite fond of my Escort mk6 cab but just recently things beginning to fail and its well getting me down.
For instance drivers side electric Window not working. Pretty sure I've got power but nothing happening - I've decided to replace with new regulator and motor and try to fit myself.
Normally I jump straight on eBay for parts but before I do that.

Anybody recommend a supplier of parts that actually fit ?

  5. Yes some of the mk5b's had airbags. The ones that had airbags had different front seat mounts that are like the mk6. The dashboard clock was also different and had a part in it for the airbag light.

    Hi

Thank you for your advice. I'll try all your suggestions and see what happens. Fingers crossed its just the fuse or pump fluid.

Its 20+ years old so I don't really mind if it doesn't open electrically but it would be nice to get it working if I can.

Can I also ask; the car currently has a awful after market steering wheel. I don't have an issue with aftermarket but the previous owner just hasn't chosen a nice one at all. Anyway, I want to restore it to original. In the car, along with all sorts of rubbish, was an air bag which suggests the steering wheel had an air bag - however everything I've seen for the 1994 Cabriolet suggest they did not have a steering wheel airbag and simply had a horn in the centre circle. Do you or anyone else know IF the 1994 (L reg) Cabriolet had an airbag steering wheel?

    Thanks :-)

  6. No other fuses apart from main fuses next to the battery. Rear foglight does have a relay, could be that. Interior light, best check at the source with a voltmeter. Then wires on top of the fusebox. Think IIRC it is a white connector with 4 wires, red, brown, and two red/brown.

  7. It is a triangular connector in the engine bay. With 3 wires to it, The connector plastic is black, the other two similar white connectors are ABS and Octane Adjust. You would need to pull the red insert out to plug the diagnostic machine into it.

Hi does can any one tell me where diagnostic port is on escort mk5 cabrolet please thxs
