The fuel tanks you can get them new aftermarket on ebay or bodywork shops. The fuel tank sender unit is a bit more harder to come by new. It would be used on ebay or breakers. The 1.4, 1.6. 1.8, 2.0 EFI all used the same pump IIRC. Just make sure that it isn't the mk6 as many of them didn't have the push fit connectors on the pump IIRC and you would have to change them.

Cabriolet sills are deeper due to needing to be thicker to strengthen the bodyshell due to lack of roof.
-
IIRC it is 3 bolts either side, then electrical connectors for heated rear windscreen. Should be in Haynes manual/Ford TIS
-
I would check the fuses and relays to make sure that it is 100% the motor not working. Does it make any sound when powered. Best place to check for them is ebay.
-
Just looked at their prices and it seems very high compared to everyone else

Go for mohair, they last longer, vinyl gets cuts from stresses within as few years.
-
I would go, but in the Focus, haven't taken the Escort there since around 2006 or 2007

IIRC they are the same

If you cant get it sold here, would be worth putting it on ebay, should get something decent for it.

One is triangular the other is splined with around 8 splines. Identifiable by the pressure pipe locations and looking at the shaft where it connects to the steering column.
-
looks like plastic has come off

Seen this on ebay around a year or more now. Not sure why it hasn't sold as yet. Would go for the original mk5a.

These are notorious for play hence why I contacted Edd China, and Fuzz townsend, needless to say after several emails they did not even have the coutesy to respond. It makes me think these shows are just shams.
I think that is a bit unfair to say about them. They probably get thousands of emails every day, plus I assume they are busy people and have a life outside of their job.

Sounds like its the wiring between the ignition switch and the starter motor, switch live.

I got mine from an Audi dealer, same VW group, around 2 years ago.
-
I had post it here some years ago, There is one relay to remove, once done the roof can be raised and lowered at any ignition position.

Yes they are still availble

I think there is a few K reg mk5b badged as XR3i in 1992 just before it was changed to Si (exactly same spec) in other European countries it was left as XR3i until the mk6.
Do you happen to know when the XR3i ceased and Si production started?

Mine doesn't have PATS or airbag. There was a time in 1994 that both were built together. The ones with airbag, PATS, also have mk6 seat frames and the dashboard clock cluster is different with a bit for the airbag light. The fusebox was also different code.
Cheers Ollie.
Much appreciated! More info for the archives!
Is that a 1994 catalogue? Coral Red isn't listed, so I assume it was only available for a short period.
Mine was built in May 93, which I think makes it a fairly early Si. It pre-dates those brochure pics, as it doesn't have an airbag or the PATS system.
Keep the info coming guys!
I have a "The New Si Cabriolet" brochure dated April 93' and a Escort/Orion Accessories brochure dated May 93' if anyone wants some info from those.

I agree with the others on this. It would be hard to get all the drive train etc and expensive now to change it into a cossie cab. Better of restoring it to standard.

Very hard to remember.

Looks very clean, I guess it hasn't hardly been driven.
