Once you get it off there might be a little bit left over, use methylated spirt or Turtle Wax Tar remover !!!

I would do it for you, I have no idea what colour wire is for which but if I was looking at it I could fix it if you know what I mean, got all the gear in the Lab to fix it too !!! If you dont sort it down there give us a text when you come home !!!

WOW !!! :wow: That rad was proper fu##ed mate lol !!! The rust is not that bad, one of the peeps on here sorted his while he was waiting for his engine to be rebuilt and it was worse than yours, take back the surrounding paint and rust, treat with rust eater, if the holes are for things to bolt on and are badly corroded just weld penny washers on, prime that badboy then paint it, or, just get a new slam panel, theres loads on ebay brand new and reasnably priced too !!! See you at the meet !!!

Do what Markey said mate, get a relay, wire it to the battery and the high beam on the head lights, this way they get there power from the battery and just get swiched on via the high beam !!! ..........and look for the existing wireing if its there !!!

Hi mate !!! The MASSIVE replys !!! :icon_salut_gb: Get some 170mm ALPINE speakers and spacers for the front and 100mm speakers for the back, 6x9's are better, I was going for JBL 6x9's like my ROVER but like you say (and most of the other Mk5 MASSIVE peeps) they are difficult to fit without cutting the cards, but have no fear, Uncle Charlzy is working on a solution so keep an eye out !!! :icon_salut_gb: Big up The Mk5 MASSIVE !!! :icon_salut_gb:

I had a standard exhaust on my ROVER for years, I just had a nice stainless 6x8 oval trim on it, I got a stainless for it last month as I got sick of replacing the back box every 2 years, bit loud for my taste, all stainless ones are, go for a trim mate, if you get the diamiter and decide what design you want my mate sells them in his shop, he would post one for free if you wanted one !!!

Glad you sorted it mate, its always worth getting a Haynes Manual for the wire diagrams and for genral reference, best bet if ebay, if you want a new one my mate sells them in his shop, let me know and i'll send you a price, he will even post it for free !!!

eric's not wrong mate, some of there gear is proper GASH !!! Just do a search on ebay for ESCORT CABRIOLET or CONVERTABLE BUMPER and see whats available, mix and match or buy a full kit !!!

My mate had a small leak a while ago, we took it out, took off the pipes and cleaned the treads, added some teflon tape then put them back on, we also made sure the pump itself was nice and tight, once we filled it back up it worked a treat, then he crashed it 4 months later, pure genius !!!

If its a Mk5 I would just go for a genuine RS2000 kit, pick them up mega cheap on ebay !!! Watch out for Firbre Glass kits, some warp badly !!!

There is a metal rod which looks like a tap, if you slacken it the roof can be operated by hand !!!

Most brake and power steering fluids will do it mate, if in doubt, always refer to your user book or any good motrofactors, as for topping up, one of the peeps used a baby syringe(no needle, its a feeder) it fits in the nut hole and it goes in a treat !!!
