  5. so you used a totally straight near new shell to repair it??
  6. If its a wreck then scrap value.. £145.. If its salavagble but not road worthy ie no mot then no more than £300
  7. mk4 yeah, If its stretch to the point that the lever is vertical, then your going to have to get underneath, Get the front as high as you can, and reach up between the manifold and radiator, you should feel a little catch push that to the right(as your looking up) and it should ping open.
  8. This has been rumbling on for as long as Ive had cabs, It aledgedly all stems from a cab that was sold on ebay a few years ago. it was a listed as being made for the wife of one of fords MD's at the time 1990. It was in magenta red with all the RS trimmings. however digging about found that the engine was fitted by a supplying dealer rather than off the factory line. It since then been sold a few times last I saw was in 2008 and a price take of 6.5k.
  9. The car sold a few times after the show, it was at one time in barn in lutterworth so may explain the state it ended up in, then it dropped of radar, until reports came out of it being stacked in the wet by someone from the old production crew, quite possibly the guy you saw it for sale with
  10. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Escort-Mk-4-Cosworth-Front-and-Rear-Style-Bumpers-/170667445025?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27bc928b21
  11. This is the third post about this year, 99.9% there Both Dead, 1 destroyed by fire, the other wrapped round a lamppost by one of the old production team.
  12. Any 4X108 stud pattern, with an ET of between 33 and 47 will fit, That's mk1 escort up to mk2 mondeo. however fitting alloys that are suited for RWD cars..ie capri n sierra can have a negative handling effect
  13. yep it is,now wheres me thinking cap
  14. if its mfi? it sounds like a duff/clogged metering unit
  15. Your better buying one with a dud lump that you are poor body work, the cost of an engine is way less that bringing worn and shot panels back to life.. And yep thats deffo a mk4 cab, 1985 C reg was the first offical reg date.
  16. All the "mk7" escort was amk6 with a digi dash, no other interior exterior changes etc. so it therefore remand a mk6 to Ford
  17. 1.8 Zetec starters fit and work better as its shorter so it avoids the manifold and a huge battery.. the bigger amp the more clout the starters gonna get when it turns over
  18. can you completly withdraw the key with it running?, could well be your ignition switch is fubard
  19. Amplifier, thats the kiddy, Try the new coil and see as they do give out after a while
  20. Have you cranked it witj the king lead attached to visably see a spark?..the new coil is all ok as is firing order, have you checked the little black box onto of the dizzy (forgot its bloomin name grr!)as these san give the same symptons.. there easy enough to get hold of
  21. the CFI..Carb Fed injection appeared(iirc) in the mk5.. but its really just a posh carb lump to beat emmisions laws.. either way its had a bodge of an engine change probbly to get it into the lower tax bracket
  22. All 3i cabs are 1600's Vearly mk3's had the 1300cvh, later mk5's had the 1400cfi engine.. nope there was never a 1.4i cab or any car as ford never made a 1400 injection engine
  23. hows this SPRING VIOLET MICA G/XSC258CM 1996 METALLIC
  24. P0209 Injector Circuit Malfunction ... sounds like you've either got an injector gone down or the seals leaking
  25. Sounds to me like an injector seals gone.. 02o' tend to mean fuel system.. does the car run? Edit that as read above..
