Guest MJWard
Hi all I've recently purchased an Escort Cabriolet Tennis edition and wanted to know where it sits in the limited production run (mine was registered 21/08/89). Is there any way to tell from the chassis number when it was actually built? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ian71
One the original ford brochure there was a picture of Boris Becker. lol
allblue
VIN plate last two letters before the 5 digit engine number is build month / year. German versions were labeled as Boris Becker. With his intitials on the bootlid. No cabrio was made in limited number, except for the all white se 1988, initially 150 units in RHD and 150 in LHD, but even that contiuned production run until June 1990, in Germany. Guest MJWard
My understanding was that the Tennis editions were only built for a couple of months and only 500 or so made to this specification. There don't seem to be many left of any variant but I bought this one specifically because it's a rarer combination and hasn't had a RST conversion or anything messed with too much (except the back box which is getting replaced with standard soon). I will add pics soon.
