Whenever i visit other people's restoration projects, they've always got a mate helping them.

This may make me feel like billy-no-mates, but I don't have anyone to help with mine - or for me to help with theirs.

I'm currently sorting out my wife's rather tired little p reg Ghia Cabriolet near Crystal Palace in London.

Is there anyone else doing anything similar anywhere close by who fancies joining forces for mutual support etc?

Photos of the new wing replacement attached.

Well I'm about 40 mins from Bromley, so not too far... Currently working on a MK3 blue cabby... Only just got it working, the hassle & woes is all on here somewhere.... Well, I didn't get it working, my mechanic mate did... I'm no good with the oily bits, just the vision & the driving :-)

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself - I've welded on a new wing and now painted it almost looks like new. I've investigated where to put the wiring in for the heated windscreen and tomorrow, I'm taking it to kwikfit to check the camber and toe on the front right wheel. I've got excessive wear on the inner edge, so i think when the MR2 went into the wing it also knocked the wheel out of true.

I did a welding course at evening class - but as I only do it now and again I'm not that good.

Took it to Kwik fit in Sydenham to have the wheel aligned and the guy there has a Blue Mk6 - so we spent 10mins comparing cars before he did the job.
