Guest Graham Paterson
Well C200 HOO has been stood in a garage since 2001 and covered 87 miles (backed up with all MOT's) until Jan 2011 when i bought it for the princely sum of £450 from ebay. Travelled to Eastbourne from North Wales to collect and then drove it home. Got low on fuel and Coughed and came to a halt at Birmingham with what appeared to be white smoke from the exhaust - (oh dear), limped to petrol station, £50 of super unleaded and thrashed it back to N Wales.... Got better and better and hasn't missed a beat since... Been told it was prob condensation in fuel tank? No rust underneath, never welded, rock solid, 129K miles, just flew through its MOT with no advisories (was quite a hit in the garage with the younger mechanics who had never seen one up close - bless) engine a bit wheezy and gearbox a bit rubbery. New roof beginning of feb and then its a respray come the spring and try to sort interior.. First job was to take the purple 'ragtop' sticker off the boot (oh dear) however..! Have looked at getting a rebuilt engine from reconditioned engines - but the reviews are a bit frightening! Anyone used them and is there anyone up this way on here (North Wales/North West)....
