sifitz
Hi all - we have now booked our ferry crossings too. We will start looking at hotel options near Nurburgring/Amersterdam and maybe draw up a shortlist so people can say which they prefer before we book etc. Just to mention on the Stena ferry, if you have booked the evening meal it is in the restaurant (it doesn't have a buffet like the older ships) so we need to decide what time everyone wants to eat and how many of us there will be so we can book a table together. Looking forward to it already ! I have been watching our nurburging laps that Ian and Paul have posted and can't wait to thrash round there again! sifitz
Hi all - have found this website that shows hotels near the Nurburgring - approx 10 to 15 miles away - as these seem a lot cheaper than the ones on the ring - what do you think? Plus some of the ones on the ring charge Euro 24 parking per night http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/where_to_stay.php
Guest Steve
I'm easy with hotels as long as parking is safe for cars

Basilbear
Well I've had a shuftie at where we can go on the way up to Amsterdam. There is a Nature Park on the way up which is east of Cologne. I have found the following hotels which are in the park and near Biggesee lake, and there is also Atta Cave nearby. Anyway let me know what you think and I'll book the rooms. This would be for the Tuesday 28th night only , as I believe the idea is for us all to get to Amsterdam on the Wednesday evening ready for a full day exploring on the Thursday! Ha!. So the details of the 2 hotels I have found for this single night stop over are as follows: Ebbegebirge Nature Park http://www.booking.com/hotel/de/landhotel-sangermann.en-gb.html?aid=100200;label=Hotel-reservations-xusIK9N6eEgGl6ojl6jNSgS3865872445;sid=88f46a53b25ef0c3fc490802e4e025c9;dcid=4;checkin=2012-08-28;checkout=2012-08-29;srfid=760b1d6540ec5c80a7a99b90e94fbf5aX7 http://www.booking.com/hotel/de/haus-dumicketal.en-gb.html?aid=100200;label=Hotel-reservations-xusIK9N6eEgGl6ojl6jNSgS3865872445;sid=88f46a53b25ef0c3fc490802e4e025c9;dcid=4;checkin=2012-08-28;checkout=2012-08-29;srfid=760b1d6540ec5c80a7a99b90e94fbf5aX1 If you can let me know asap I can book the rooms. sifitz
Hi hotels look great Avril. Guess only query is what is there to do in the forest? Will there be enough for two nights stay or could we find ourselves ready to move onto Amsterdam but having to stay the extra night cos we are booked in? Happy to stay two nights in Amsterdam and make the most of it especially if Paul is going to fly over? What does everyone else think? Happy to go with the majority, Thanks again Avril for looking at all this. Simon .
