badger
hi chaps just an idea to test the water as some of you might know the europeon show is and has been on the same weekend as my darts for the last 4 years so it most likely will be again next year and as i only get 1 weeks floating holiday a year it does make it hard to fit everything in so i was thinking how does going in the last week of august sound (better weather hopefully) which incoproates the august bank holiday, i know it might add on the cost ??? but just batting the idea around to see what you think (that week is the last week of my shutdown).. badger
hi chaps i've just done a little digging around and had a look at ferries now p&o sail from hull and the price drops alot once outta august(for example its 398 return in august and 238 in september for ferry and room (no meal)). but stenna line is same price whenever you travel and they do a day time crossing as well as an overnight but they sail from harwich (very close to me and avril) its the same sort of price £300 for overnight with cabin and meal(but day time is £142 return as you don't need cabin or meal) could take pack up/ buy sandwich etc etc..but i now you might have to come down day before and b&b it.so put price back up a little... just more food for thought..... what ya reakon.... Guest Savage
I left this thread up on my phone and the wifes already ripped me a new one for considering it. I'm gonna have to either give it a miss or get some matching numbers on a Saturday. Already got several trips booked for next year so I can almost see her point. I think the Harwich day trip sounds good and is probably more ideal if we are going to the Nurburgring first as its nearer i think from the Hook of Holland?....would also make a change. We could perhaps do the outward journey from Harwich and then the return via Hull?? Not sure if thats possible or whether it costs a lot more to do that. For those that didn't go last year the average we paid for the hotel rooms were approx 35euros although this may have gone up a bit by next year....but it will hopefully help people budget if we think we are going to go for a week this time. Thanks Avril
