Wheels Back From Refurbishment

After picking up 7 16" RS7 spokes over the last 6 months it was time for them to be refurbised for this next show season. I found the best 5 of the lot and took them to: http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/File/DerbyDetails.php

It's hard to explain just how bad the condition of the wheels were before, but think curbed, scuffed, chipped, lacquer missing on 50% and white corrosion all over and under remaining lacquer...most would consider them beyond saving...

Had them acid stripped, blasted, straightened where required, welded up and dressed and dents, scuffs, pitting, corrosion around valves etc removed, painted, stove dried, powder coated, painted again with metallic & mid-sized metal flake, lacquerd, new metal Ford valves fitted, new tyres, centres caps re-done & new (non-RS) centre badges from DMB graphics put on.

I do have a new set of wheel bolts, locking studs and locking screws for centre caps, just need to get on with the cab so I fit these on....

I'm very happy, excellent job not cheap by any means...Will be going on the '89 3i cab soon..

nice

just one question do you still have the others ??

if so how much would you want for them ??

thanx

Thanks for comment - of the other 2, 1 is beyond straightening and the other I would like to keep as a last ditch spare, just in case.... If I come across any others I'll let you know.

nice mate, they look awesome! must of cost a small fortune, even more with the tyres!

Thanks, yes certainly wasn't cheap. Actually having the wheels repaired wasn't 'too bad', but adding on tyres, Ford metal valves, new centre caps (+ painting), new locking wheel cap studs (not in pictures) new gel badges and new wheel bolts it certainly added up....Probably could buy a reasonable cab for the price.

Wheels themselves were around £75 per rim + £10 per centre cap. £35 for each wheel requiring straightening & £10 for each wheel requiring any welding to build alloy back up.
