My Current Situation

My car was rear ended on December 14th. Was stationary after stopping in traffic and the arsehole behind completely missed the fact and ran into me at about 30mph... The car still drove spot on though, good old cabbys!

Anyway, it is still a write off... I am paying the £100 salvage value and am keeping the car with the intention of doing the work myself and getting it back on the road for the Summer...

Here's some pics of the car...

And some pics of the car I bought with the £900 left over from the payout!

Fine for a Winter runabout eh?

Nope, no snow, just an idiot behind me... He is a bus driver as well... But was in his own car. Feel sorry for his passengers if that's how he drives!!!

Just to get the chassis pulled..? I take it I can do the lighter repairs myself?

you would need it put on a jig to pull the chassi straight the lighter repairs would be easily done yourself.

have you had a lookj under the rear end to see how badly the chassi legs are bent?

if your really good with a welder you could cut a section of chassi out of a breaker and weld it in

but you would need to make sure its spot on and welded right.

Take the bumper off and surrounding trim. You need to look at the boot floor and chassis legs.

It might not need a pull but from the photos and details of how quick the car that hit you was going I would think it would. I had a similar thing done on a escort si few years ago and and they charged £120. I have no idea if that was a good price.

Before this the bumper mountings and catch plate were out of place so boot wouldn't shut. After this all was fine and i just welded part of the lower section in place and bit of shaping to the wheel well.
