Guest Cabbytech
Hi, i had some spare time this afternoon so i decided to paint the rear n/s quarter, but today i added lacquer to the final coat and wow did it come out really shiny, im well pleased with it, this is what the car looked like when i got it I then got my dent puller into gear and started the reshape all most there now, just needs a few more minor bits of filler, got a replacement lamp for final adjustments and here it is today, im well pleased with the shine Edited August 10, 2010 by Cabbytech

Guest Cabbytech
Thanks Stu, i normally put lacquer on seperately to finish off, it helps stop red and yellow cars fading, but a mate said to try adding it to the final coat of red and i was stunned at the outcome lol
Guest Cabbytech
Thanks Chaz, im well happy with it, but feel like im going to have to dig deeper into my pocket and paint the whole car, i use a mates garage at the min as i cant get anything into mine with it being full of crap, so his garage is going to be busy he he. Guest Cabbytech
Spent a few hours in the garage this afternoon and got the rear bumper painted. This was the scabby pepper red bumper that came with the car rubbed down ready to prime Here it is primed and its cuppa time lol and here it is in radiant red, colour looks a bit off due to the lighting and seeing as i had a bit of paint left in my gun, i painted the one surviving spat

Guest Cabbytech
Thanks Guys, Once its finished and im happy with it, im going to stick 12 months MOT on it Stu and sell it, then i will be looking at my next project lol. O/S now painted and rear bumper fitted, spats will be fitted next, then i need an O/S headlamp and some GTi badges for it as the originals were missing, then get some 15" GTi alloys for it and hey presto it should be back to as it should be.
