When i bought my EFI 1.6 it was lumpy as hell when idle, then discovered the ISCV was totally missing !

I got a valve and the garage fitted it today, the car ran for a few mins then stopped, they removed the valve and now the car won't idle, was misfiring and back firing ?

Is it dead ? lol i really don't know, any help would be awesome !

Cheers

Steve

Is it plumbed it corectly? any air leaks cause big running problems.

The early escorts had a Hitachi valve fitted to the air filter lid, but due to driveability issues it was modified to fit in line attached to the baulkhead instead. This is the one you have got so make sure all the pies are in the right place. Compare it to another one if you can.

Good luck
