Guest Haddow
for those that know me, im back FINALLY! lol. its been a long time coming this thread, and its getting there slowly bit by bit, waiting for the right parts and getting things organised, plus spending on other fords doesnt help either! but heres the new version of my restoration of the cabby. if it doesnt make sense its taken from another site and patched up together but im trying to make it as readable as possible lol. ok heres pics of progress so far, with pics since i bought it and then pics of what ive collected so far to put on it. XR3i Cabriolet - 78K genuine milage, all original parts on the car, limited top spec very few out there still in such good working order, full power pack (heated front windscreen, electric mirrors, power roof, windows central locking etc. rare half leather recaro's in near mint condition apart from drivers seat bolster leather is cracked. mods at current when bought are lockwood dials and a powerflow tailpipe that makes it sound like an old 80's touring car after 10 minutes running with the excess fuel popping and banging in the exhaust 8-)

Guest Haddow
front panel rot all for now, more parts and work coming soon. may take the car to fast ford in october on the trailer if interiors done and paintworks finished by then, fitting your own car in betwen other jobs seriously sucks ass big time. pics of some new goodies also got some wee interior trim stuff i needed to replace pic of bonnet. also got original ford rs turbo repair procedures booklet, and should have a complete microfiche collection for the mk4 escort as well for the car, original owners handbook, brand new service book, and original dealer plates hopefully sourced next week as well. more pics next week. THATS WHERE IT ENDS........UNTIL NOW! ive been daddling about with a mk3 fiesta diesel van getting that ready for paint and a new engine in it due to my idiot ways not doing the timing belt when i got it first thing, but now im off this week hopefully for some rare genuine RS suspension (not rs turbo, but specifically ford RS parts stamped and stickered with the rs logo for a mk4 escort) that will make there way onto the car, and a full MK4 Cabby that will soon be for sale minus one rs turbo engine i think for my own one, shells seen better days but isnt a scrapper so whoever wants it is welcome to have it once ive taken my running gear from her for my car. so far ive skinned parts from the following cars for this to happen on my escort so far S2 RST X1 MK4 XR3i cabriolet for RST engine (this week) X1 2.1 ZVH Escort RS Pickup Truck! X1 more progress when it happens very soon!

UPDATE - going to collect an F-REG XR3i cabby tomorrow with an rst engine in it already, not sure what im doing with the shell so will keep you all posted, 90 spec recaro's etc, probably end up as a breaker as its sat with 2 and a half years worth of water in the floor! but main thing is it runs and doesnt look too shabby tbh, will keep you all posted! Guest Haddow
away to classic car show tonight so will get pics up at weekend, cars home now in my mates driveway until i return and clear out the garage. f-reg xr3i cabby, around 80k genuine milage. totally standard all round mechanically except from the rs turbo conversion of course full 3" diameter stainless exhaust, 90 spec recaro interior in pretty good nick, rs kit and bonnet in good nick, also came with a nice surprise of an alpine V12 amplifier and infinity subwoofer, not sure if it will work being outside in condensation for so long but i'll find out eventually! lol. will get cracking and check out the engine spec of the car when im home on saturday..... but for £100 for a full car then im not complaining! progress with the main car will be sorted next week after i paint my fiesta rs turbo kitted van for work and get some welding done. Guest Haddow
back from birmingham, some great cars there, really tempted to get another capri now from how good some of them were there! no cabs there but didnt expect any less tbh with the show, looked for some bargains but nothing. good news is the donor cars here, shell will be broken up very soon, will be keeping doors, tailgate, pump for roof, and other bits and pieces, running gear, all the interior apart from the 90 spec recaro interior. will get a list up of whats for sale in the for sale section when im done with it. pics up once im back from pizza hut as im bloody starving from the show! P.S. Cabbytech, absolutely brillian show, if you have the platinum pass the food is really good, and the top gear show is even better than last years! Guest Haddow
completely forgot to post pics, will get them up as soon as possible of the donor cars! going to fit the anti roll bars and calipers from the rs turbo just now until my cossie calipers are back from being reconditioned and powdercoated, should be getting new wheel bearings and bottom arms shortly as well for the front, and renew the rear suspension arms as well, then new shocks and springs and polybushes too. wiring loom in the cab donor cars show with water getting into it over 2 years outside, so engines being taken apart personally to inspect it rather than start it up as it wont. more on that shorlty when i get my van painted finally this saturday and possibly post it up for sale to fund more bits for the cab.
