coming on nicely, wouldn't mind a contact on the gearbox painter, what sort of price was it??

The extreme chrome powder coating costs approx £50 per litre and it needed 3/4 plus sand blasting and re powder coating

Haven’t updated this is ages mainly due to work, money etc and slight loss of interest but back on track.

The new EFI loom has been installed, this was a task in it self has i didn’t want to cut and join any of the loom. So all the interior was ripped out to make way for it. I managed to pick up a mint loom thanks to Ant at Just Affords. The loom had never seen a alarm and even the original stereo connector was in place and it came from a Cab so all good.

I have just finished putting 90% of the interior / dash / boot back in so its starting to look like a car again.

The engine bay is also starting to fill up again, managed to get the reconditioned steering rack etc back in place and all the front suspension all back on.

Decided to replace the 18 month old Konis with Gaz fully adjustable, new hubs have been purchased and powder coated and all other items related to the suspension have been re powder coated black I.E anti roll bar etc. New Powerflex poly bushes have also been added.

I will get some pictures of the front suspension setup ASAP.

We have also assembled the gearbox together with its new 4 Paddle AP racing clutch and bolted up with the block. New Vibratech engine mounts have been fitted.

The block and gearbox, cradle etc was built up outside the car and then raised up into the car with the help of Andy, Eric and Andy (F40) and bolted into place with re zinced bolts and washers.

The head in the picture was just resting on top of the block so it didn’t get kicked around to much.

Last night we managed to bolt the head down and set up the timing.

The head had a new Piper 285T2 Cam, Piper lifters, vernior pully and Piper Cam belt fitted before it was bolted down on the block.

The head has also had a lot of work on it being ported and polished etc.

The block had been fitted with steel con rods, forged pistons and flywheel lightened etc etc.

Well it started off has a winter project but its now May but hopefully the end is in sight, I hope so because no got no more money to spend on it.

Anyway heres a quick update.

Just awaiting a polished Fiesta turbo cross over and i can get rid of the bodge pipework to the Idle control valve, A full Magnex exhaust as been fitted.

I started the car up a few weeks back and it starts first click every time so all good.

The only thing left to do is to fit some new braided hoses to these Sierra 4x4 calipers that i have fitted together with Sierra 2 wheel drive EBC discs. Fill with fluid and bleed the buggers.
